Murphy hasn't been able to recruit worth a damn lately but he's still a great in-game coach and elite motivator.

I think it's telling how much success we had last year with Fouts on the team and them having a better offense vs. this season. Despite our seeding, last year's team was much better. Our offense this year was mediocre. Last year we were able to make it to the national semis with basically three consistent hitters. This year, those hitters were far less consistent. And we still had too many players that were automatic outs at the plate, like Dez and G.

I thought the hitters looked unprepared and their approach at the plate made no sense. Hits were there to be had but there were too many takes and called strikes. A pitcher’s best friend is a hitter who gets behind in the count.

It was set up perfectly for one of the all time Vols to get a homerun...or at least a hit and bring some magic to the season/team. Instead...0-5. 1 run last 17 -18 innings? At the most crucial time? Something is very wrong. Tremendous choke. Some of that has to be coaching.

For peace of mind several of you just need to accept Karen and enjoy what success she brings despite her faults. Shes gonna primarily give you decent seasons, conference titles every now and then and trips to WCWS on occasion. Is she prob gonna win it all? Probably not. Her sample size it big enough to say it probably wont happen. Shes gonna drop some shouldnt along the way but it just is what it is. Shes not leaving.

Well, she did try to bring the Malveaux family in from Missouri which was supposed to help, It hasn't worked out so, we should move on from them. Like I said, Karen should leave when she wants.

Obviously they were not overseeded. They just came to Knoxville and made the VOLS look overseeded.

Good coaches allow their assistants to take over. Karen will NEVER relinquish pitch calling. I don’t know if it’s ego or she doesn’t think Megan can call a good game

May need to look for a hitting coach, seems like the hitters just disappear at most inopportune times. Not convinced that Bama pitchers are that good.

They were hammering the same zones the entire game and only Nugent made the adjustment and drove a ball into the gap.
