or another decent/good PG, if it's possible at this late date, or the Vol season has just gone up in flames. Without a good PG, you've got nothing. In fact, you need at least three good guards to have a good team--good PG, decent/good backup PG, a couple of shooting guards who can play strong defense. Good guards are hugely important--Louisville had three or four good ones last year.

Wow. Why would someone HATE a kid for transferring to UT? We have had several football players transfer to Memphis. HATE THEM???? Utterly ridiculous. Having said that after the assistant coach at Memphis leaving earlier this week and based on comments coming from several players I believe several would like to leave with him. Read Austin's comments on this....

Lyle would be available for next season and we have recruited him. Any chance we would have in actually signing him may very well have improved with the huge vacancy that now exists.

Jaquan Lyle's title thread says he's a 14 recruit. I assume that's who you are talking about. We Are in 2013

Ive been trying to look to see what's available, haven't found much. What I don't want them to do is take a "Wes Washpun" type player. Being in a freshman PG, who's worse than Thompson and is just gonna sit the bench and cost us a scholarship in the 2014 class. At this point it needs to be someone with 1 years remaining OR if they have more than 1 yea remaining they better be damn good

No he's available for the 2014-15 season. If we don't get Antonion Barton don't be surprised if we have an extra scholarship for the 2014 class.

I agree! We definitely don't need to just waste a schollie like we did with Wes.

Washpun wasn't a wasted scholarship. He was a take at the time because we were left with half a roster and the NCAA breathing down our throats. Washpun had SEC athleticism but not the talent for this level.

Yeah, it didn't work out but he moved on and we didn't miss out on anyone due to him being here.

You are probably correct but I didn't think he really helped us that much. That's the only reason I said waste.

I don't understand all the people saying Barton is better than Golden. He's a 6'0 shooting guard that averaged around 6.5 points and 1.5 assists over his career. I know the cupboard is bare and he would be a good pick up at this stage in the game, but temper your expectations a bit.

Cause he wouldn't be surrounded by scrubbs like at Memphis State. He would be surrounded with talent. lol

Nah, I kid. But seriously dont think many if any said better. Just better than having to start a true fresh.
