Watch any replay of any game and tell me after a player makes a mistake someone is not immediately getting up to check in. It happens every game. This just isn’t true. Again…. He has benched players for NOT taking a shot. Believe what you want. I’m not going to argue but your comments are not accurate and you can ask any player or coach within the program - none will agree with what you just wrote. We go on scoring droughts because of our personnel and not having guys that can get buckets on their own as much as anything else.

You guys are overacting to what i am saying. Im not saying our guys routinely make mistakes is the reason they have to be pulled or whatever. Im say Barnes isnt the type of coach to let players play through mistakes. And that affects a players ability to create a rhythm in the game flow. You guys are acting like im calling Barnes a horrible coach. Im just saying he is the type of coach that you cant play free flow with. Look how different the offense is compared to coaches like Pearl who allows their players to almost play street ball at the offensive end. Barnes offense is never going to be that way. Its a slow and deliberate type of offense with him. And i also believe thats one reason you dont see higher rated guys in the portal coming to Tennessee.Tell me what coach routinely lets players **** up and leaves them in the game
Sorry that Barnes wouldn’t let Wendell green shoot 40 footers and shoot his team out of the game? You guys are overacting to what i am saying. Agree to disagree is the standard in any forum on this site. Anytime someone post an opinion someone has to say its arguing instead of just a general discussion. Shows the maturity in most posters on here and im not saying you. There are just to many posters on here who look to do nothing but start trouble. As far as you and i agreeing to disagree. I dont see it that way. I see us talking most likely about the same thing and somewhat agreeing. But conversations are easily misinterpreted in text mode where in person its easier to explain or have a genuine conversation. So yes i agree lets not derail the thread any further. I appreciate the good opinion though.I always watch every game and see the majority of mistakes do not lead to substitutions. I see lack of effort and situations where people are pulled due to matchups but not just because one mistake is made. That’s ridiculous. I’m not going to try and convince you but it just isn’t true. And you mentioned earlier people benched for taking a bad shot. Barnes rarely pulls someone because of a shot they take.
We can agree to disagree. I don’t want to derail this thread any further.
I agree with this. I dont mind a player being benched. And yes the experienced guys always do get another chance. I just think sometimes the trigger is quick and affects the five on the court getting into a good rhythm.I really only recall knee jerk substitutions happening after blowing a defensive assignment, being lazy and not getting a rebound (or not boxing out the opponent that is grabbing them), making dumb decisions like unforced turnovers (not being focused), or taking bad shots really early in the play clock, and possibly passing up a good shot late in the shot clock. All of which seem like good reasons to get benched and if that punishment for those things is making players scared to play then they might not be P-6 caliber players. Other than freshmen, players benched for those mistakes usually get another chance after being sat down. There’s a lot of made up CRB criticism to match the dumb narratives being posted.
This just isn’t true. He has a great relationship with his players. And he benches players as much for not being aggressive offensively or not taking open shots as he does for any defensive mistakes. Lack of effort will get you benched as it should….. but not just making a mistake.

Knecht has a helluva offer list. Must have something programs see and want. The fact that Glover hasn't visited tells me he's pretty far down the list. I hope we don't make it that far down on the list. The drop from Perry to Glover seems precipitous.
I actually kinda like Knecht, so I don't see him as a consolation prize. There is some risk there, for sure, but I like his upside and ability at all three levels.
Surely they won't go that long in making a decision? Barnes will no doubt wait as long as necessary for JJJ and Vescovi, but he has to do what's necessary in the portal, too, right? Portal guys won't wait that long so I'd assume Barnes would get what he needs/wants from the portal then encourage a player or two to move along?I believe it’s May 11
Preach on Cam. ZZ has expressed a desire to come off the bench so let's find a starter...maybe a bit bigger so there's a change of pace with ZZ.I truly believe next years roster can/will be better than this year. I feel like we have insanely more athleticism and depth, the main issue and it’s a very big one is we NEED someone to help Ziegler out. Whether or not that’s a starting caliber point guard or a bench guy we need someone with experience and scoring ability or else we will be in the same boat as we were this season.
