Tennessee Vols Basketball Recruiting

No you weren't lol if you wanted to actually have a convo about it, you wouldn't have come out swinging with posts clearly meant to inflame and call out people for being "sunshine and rainbows."

A true "conversation" requires two sides to listen. You haven't shown you even care about doing that. It's been all "I guarantee I'm right" and "there's zero chance this happens."
Not to mention that your first bold move was to make your screen name TennesseeBasketballGuru and then proceed with all of the above.

Alexa, define "narcissism.

I love Barnes and what he accomplished last season with the team. However this is a critical juncture we HAVE to get some difference making portal players or it could be a rough go next year.
Hopefully not a let down like it was after Grant and Co.

Wonder if KC leaving is part of some of these guys hitting the portal (BHH specifically).

The good thing about a top rated prospect as other players will want to come play with them, but that also could mean that when that prospect is go those players are looking elsewhere.

We have definitely added plenty of scholarship spots now though...

Bailey Jr
QD
Tamba
BHH
KC

Now we've got 4 spots to fill not counting BJE.

The reason for BHH hitting the portal has already been discussed.

Bailey, Tamba and Q (to a lesser degree) are all players that at one time or another this fan base has questioned why we took them and that the spots could be better used elsewhere. That happens and now people want to speak in frustration about roster attrition?

I'm simply posing a question here...if you attract a top recruit and they leave after a season, does that lead to attrition from other players that came here specifically to play with that player?

I think you're overvaluing the impact a top player has on other top players. Is it cool to team up with them? Sure, in some cases. But I don't see many instances where one of them leaving directly impacts the other ones ability to stick/stay on the team.

That being said, I haven't researched this specifically; it's obviously just my opinion on a surface level thought process. Great topic to bring up though.

I think it’s very rare a player comes to a school solely because he wants to play with another player…BHH was coming here regardless of Chandler, if anything Edwards coming here would’ve been more reason BHH came here than KC.

That was for sure the case, but I wonder if that changes now. Since you have the free transfer.

And it does have an impact in other sports, football for example. We land a top QB commit and now WRs that weren't likely to entertain us are potentially coming here. Now if that QB transfers or leaves early will those WRs leave as well...that's my concern. In no way am I saying that IS the case, just expressing some worry over it being far easier for it to become the case. And basketball is far more likely to see it because of the ability of essentially every top player to leave after just a single season.
