Tennessee Vols Basketball Recruiting

That was for sure the case, but I wonder if that changes now. Since you have the free transfer.

And it does have an impact in other sports, football for example. We land a top QB commit and now WRs that weren't likely to entertain us are potentially coming here. Now if that QB transfers or leaves early will those WRs leave as well...that's my concern. In no way am I saying that IS the case, just expressing some worry over it being far easier for it to become the case. And basketball is far more likely to see it because of the ability of essentially every top player to leave after just a single season.
Yeah fair point. There's not much fear in a FB player being a one-and-done prospect given that they require 3 years post-HS to go pro. That's a much larger timeframe and has a different thought process to it I think.

Also basketball is far more freshmen friendly if you're a great talent. We see freshmen arrive and start all the time, happens less frequently in football.

I don’t see this being the case. Others have said as much but KC was almost ALWAYS going to leave after one year. Tamba and QD were never going to be playing with KC so them leaving is a different story and BHH’s reason for leaving is well documented. I don’t really see any connection to Chandler going pro.

Yeah, may be the case for KC and this team. That's just the catalyst for sparking this question for me. KC announces and then we see 3 additions to the portal (Tamba, QD, BHH).

It's not hard to see Ewing is lying to these kids to keep his job. As somebody who supported him and wanted to see him succeed- he's absolutely a POS for this.

We lost that big out of Atlanta to them as well. Is he still there and any good? Maybe we can get him in the transfer portal when Ewing is fired this year.

Yeah don't get the Georgetown love... Ewing has been there for 5 seasons too, still hasn't won 20 games in a season. Career winning percentage of 44.7% and only made 1 NCAA tournament with a .500 team.

There's a reason he never got a real look at an NBA job despite being a quality assistant for years. He has the bball pedigree and IQ, but not the ability to build a sound culture and manage the talent of others. This was explained to me from his time in Orlando and I know several staffers that were in the organization both on court and off court personally. I still rooted for him though.

Not going to lie, Georgetown's 2021 class was pretty darn good, if they add BHH and Murray, they could win 20 games next year.

Y’all can stop talking about it. My sources already confirmed Murray is headed to Georgetown

The biggest point is that our Head Coach, the OC and the B coach are here and can easily replace the skill positions either through the portal or the next recruiting class.

Looks good in orange. Anyone know where this picture comes from? Can’t find it on any of Murray’s social media. 3CBFBEC9-DAAB-41B3-AEB7-9DF6FD3E8088.jpeg

That class was mostly highly ranked because of two prospects. Mutumbo’s boy and the 5-Star Aminu Mohammad. Sounds like Aminu has declared for the NBA draft.
