And you really know what all the national media and other coaches and all that matter (or somewhat matter) think about all this? If our fans didn't get so damn butt hurt and have such knee jerk reactions, this wouldn't have made any big news segments whatsoever. You all brought this on yourselves. Sad that you drag the rest of us with you.

Guy is either a moron or played us for a raise.

First thing he don't fly all the way here, under these circumstances, with your family, only to turn down the job.

Second don't say you gave your word to Kiffin (the man who screwed us) and that you didn't want to break your promise to "those" kids when anyone following you knows you walked out on Kentucky and broke your word there.


You had three options.

1) Politely decline and say you are happy there and never travel here in the first place

2) Take the job here and help us right this ship and get things going again.

3) Travel here, make up a lie as an excuse to stay there, and let the whole world know Kiffin got us again and even our guy who won the NC doesn't want to be here.

You chose option 3 and for that I say thanks for the memories Benedict Arnold.

So let me get this straight, NeoCon. Tee Martin works hard for two years in the shadow of Peyton Manning and when he finally gets his chance, he comes in and busts his hump for the team, eventually earning one National Championship and a trip to a BCS bowl the year after that...giving you bragging rights for a while and all of us a richer football history...and you want MORE from the man??

Tee Martin is a TENNESSEE HERO and always will be. What have you done for the team?

This is possibly the dumbest post I have ever read on this site. And that is saying a lot considering that many of my own posts are on this site.

Tee came here because it is UT and he wanted to give the new coach and new situation a look. He didnt give the same consideration to other schools, and we know at least one was trying to get him as well.

He talked with the coach, he took in the offer, and he thought it over with his family in mind, and chose to stay where he is.

If he were wandering around without a current job, and he had a choice between the two schools, that might make it different. Packing up and leaving on job for another is not easy. I did it to move here, and it sucked. It would take a much better situation to get me to move again. Maybe it just was not a "much better situation" for Tee. SoCal is not exactly a bad spot, and he has some great players coming back.

Nah, the sad part is that what you and others don't understand is that it isn't the fact that he didn't come, it's the way that he did it. If you think the national media doesn't pay attention to it, why were we the laughing stock during our coaching search.....Want Ads for a coach. Anything that even looks like a slight by a noted former player can and WILL be used against us recruiting. Everyone wanted to ***** about CDD being an idiot and making us look bad and then one of the "former heroes" thumbs his nose at us in a very IMAGE DAMAGING way and that Ok? The people that think that the way that he did this is ok are the ones that are making our fan base look stupid, not the ones that think it was a crappy thing to do to his (and MY) Alma Mater.

So what would you say if you found out they just didn't get along?
And from a media standpoint Tee didn't blow this up!! I'm sure he wanted the situation to be as low key as possible. That will never happn in Knoxville.

Dude, he made a decision based on his family and the players he is currently coaching at USC. I find it refreshing when a coach puts his players and family ahead of his own ambitions. Let it go!

Yes this attitude is ridculous. All you know for sure is that he got offered a job and decided to turn it down. Big deal this is business and he may feel he has a better oppurtunity out there, likes the weather, his wife wears the pants in the family, kids are settled, has a new born, doesnt like new coach, doesnt think he would fit in, i mean i could go on and on, but instead in wasting my time telling some fool not to eat toothpaste...
