so people will tune in by the millions to watch an average team get abused every week?
they dont' want to go to the pac-10. their fanbase couldn't handle being in the same conference with those hippies and liberals.
It's not like the Pac 10 hasn't looked at them multiple times. We're just the first to look at them solo. It's also the first time they've said enough is enough and decided to break from Texas.
If you don't understand that they are fairly close to Houston (#4 media market?), student body of 50K at a time, and even as #2 team in Texas will probably come in in the top half, if not third of fanbase size, then I don't know what to tell you.
apparently Notre Dame Central - Stay Current with Notre Dame Football Scores, Schedule, Match-ups & Breaking News - NBCSports.com- NBC Sports
tv ratings are the end all be all these days anyway. the size of the market is more important with the cable revenues.
and that helps football how?
how does Vandy's academic program help the SEC or UT right now?
which you've been doing the whole time! Maybe a .500 team is the best we should hope for and we'll just enjoy the wins we get against them. Really can't understand the love
because they are not any good. It will not add the huge dollars and will actually do little for the local area as few will make the trip to see away games. The reason I won't travel to watch the Vols play MSU is the same for tamu. Maybe once for the novelty but it won't be a destination. I'll save my money for a better opponent
Well for starters without Vandy or UF, the SEC is third tier national universities, which is a joke. So, it helps in that regard, its not gonna help get recruits or anything like that, but if you can't see the relevance then I guess there is not rationale to help here. Why can't we still be an excellent football conference and add money and better academics? And you still have not mentioned any other schools that fit the bill. I answer our questions, your turn to answer mine.
You do realize they were a screwed up formula away from playing for the Big 12 title last year, right?
Please tell me how adding the Dallas and Houston markets will not increase the SEC TV drastically.
And you don't think opposing fanbases will travel there for games?
Oh, and before you forget, you didn't mention those teams, cowboy.
I'm just saying we're not exactly adding another Vandy with them.
