Texas A&M coming to the SEC????

I don't get why anyone is arguing about A&M's record. They don't need to come in and be world-beaters in order for the deal to work for everyone involved. What have Arkansas and USCe accomplished on the field since 1992? But is anyone going to argue that the SEC isn't stronger today than we were in '91?

Wait the SEC is stronger today due to USC and Arkansas? Link?

apparently Notre Dame Central - Stay Current with Notre Dame Football Scores, Schedule, Match-ups & Breaking News - NBCSports.com- NBC Sports

tv ratings are the end all be all these days anyway. the size of the market is more important with the cable revenues.

Pretty much, yeah. It's the reason the Big Ten's been making such ridiculous amounts off of its network, mainly the city market base (Chicago, Detroit, Columbus, Philly, Minneapolis, Cleveland, cincinnati, milwaukee, indianapolis, etc)

(.....really the surprise success of that thing is maybe what started all this talk that led to longhorn networks, markets, emphasis on tv deals.....because they're making a ton of money, everyone wants to find some way to try to take similar advantage)

you seriously want a list of teams than have equaled or exceeded 19-19 over the past 3 years? For a guy hung up on academics you sure do seem to have an aversion to research

ok then we'll use USCjr since it almost matches perfectly

This coming from a guy, or girl, who didn't want to do the research on ATM, that is irony. But yes, I would like that, please give three teams that would be better for the SEC, in your opinion.

Not really, but ok.

is it stronger because of USCjr and Ark?

yes your copy/paste from wikipedia was as groundbreaking as your weak attempt to insult me. My list of teams to add is zero. Pretty much what I've stated from the beginning

Pretty much every person out there traces the beginning of the SEC's rise to adding them in 92, so I'd probably have to say yes.

so the SEC was weak before they joined? I guess bama needs to split their 92 NC with the gamecocks

Wow, you really hink I know the details of ATM that well? Well thank you. But yes i did copy and paste from Wikipedia, I was just trying to educate you on what ATM brings to the table since you apparently have, or had no clue to.

But, you really think the SEC is not better with SC and Ark? They are the reason we were able to go to a championship game. But a purist such as yourself cannot watch that filth, can you? What about the bowl games, is it UT and nothing else?

I was just amazed an academic such as yourself would do their research with wikipedia. Seems a bit odd

and no, Ark and USCjr were not responsible for the conf getting stronger. Any 2 teams added would have had the same result. They just happened to get the invites (not first choices but it happens) and the conf was able to do new things with 12 teams. It was the schools specifically but the fact that 2 were added

You threw the names out there and I answered. Go ahead, throw two more. I am game.

Have USC and Arky contributed to the SEC dominance of the BCS?

No, but expansion made a world of difference, and not because of Arkansas and USCe in particular, but because of the exposure of the SECCG. Today any expansion should be about specific teams, and not expansion for expansion's sake.

And it should be noted that both schools have won multiple NCs in sports other than football since joining the SEC.
