Texas A&M/SEC megamerge thread extravaganza

99Gator green light? To leave as well or ? Sorry just trying to keep up with this. Ga. Tech is another team that may be involved in this aswell. Arkansas might leave the SEC for the Big12 you never know.At this point no one knows whats going on I guess we will find out soon

There's just as much meat behind the Arkansas joins the big 12 rumor as the "notre dame joins the big 12" one (read as: none)

Ga tech stormed off and gave the conference the middle finger on the way out. Nothing's really changed at all since then (they're much happier as is)

Weren't they talking about it last year when the Big 12 started losing teams? Or was that just smoke? I don't really care who goes where cause I'm a Vol. Always have been always will be and none of these schools scare me. It does however make it tougher and will most likely take away OOC games as far as tough ones anyway

The rumors of Arkansas to the B12 have been going on for like 10 years. There's no way they'd walk away from the money they are getting to go to the B12.

I know.

My hope will soon be that they send Alabama to the East instead of Auburn if they're moving someone over.

I'd be for pushing miss St east (or ole miss east) or vandy west and bama/auburn east

So who moves to the East? Obviously A&M will be in the West and if Mizzou comes, so will they.

Ugh, I hate all of this.

And A&M adds what?

The TV dollars myth has been exposed. What do they add now?

What myth? Do you think the univeristy presidents are voting them in as some sort of charitable act?

Do you think everyone is going to take a pay cut?

People have thought this whole deal through

I think they should go ahead and go for the combo deal to get to 16. Bring in Oklahoma, and Okie State. Then go for VaTech or UNC to round it out.

Options become:

Auburn moves east

Bama moves east

Ole miss moves east

Miss St moves east (easiest I believe, least division ties)

Vandy moves west and auburn & Alabama moves east

Vandy moves west and ole miss/miss St moves east

They'll pretty much be the Kensucky of the west, Mediocre at best!

They will be better than that, they do have the state of Texas to recruit within.

I can see them cycling up every so often to compete for the West but overall they will find it hard to tread water in the SEC.

First stage of 4-6 Super Conferences. Last stage will be 2 Super Conferences-East US vs West US.

Hogs not going anywhere they left the SWC (Big 12) to come to the SEC. Oklahoma would probably be the best pick but they are tough year in/out. Think Missouri would be a good fit; need someone Vandy, Miss St, Ole Miss, & KY can beat. Don't know why NC wouldn't be a good fit, gives someone else for the SC, GA, KY, and TN neighbors to play.

UGGGGGGGG!! What a cluster **** this could be!!

You don't want OSU without OU

I believe there is something written in their state legislature that ties the two of them together, so it would have to be a package deal. Don't hold me to this, but I think that is the same for Kansas and Kansas State.
