Texas Democrats Walk Out

Let’s make another deal , the Dems stay in Washington and forfeit their votes on any bills coming up . Problem solved .
Wonder what the standard is in Texas law for residency. At what point do they stay absent long enough so they are no longer considered residents of Texas for purpose of re-election?

Democlaps never get arrested! Just ask hitlery, bill, Obama, hunter, joe, Kamala, Nancy, pencil neck shifty shiff, mueller, clappy, Brennan, podesta, Schumer, Lisa Paige and her lover, I could go forever babieeeeeee!!😂
Don’t forget Lois Lerner, or Sandy Berger. Whatever happened with the Cumuo impeachment BTW?

Biden to travel to Philadelphia to lay out the 'moral case' for voting rights and attack Republican election bills as 'the most egregious attempt to harm our democracy since the Civil War'

President Joe Biden will deliver his long-anticipated speech on voting rights in Philadelphia on Tuesday, making the 'moral case' for the right to vote.

His remarks, to be delivered at the National Constitution Center, are intended to ramp up public pressure on the issue as several Republican-led states pass legislation aimed at restricting voting rights.

In his remarks, Biden will call the new state laws 'the most egregious attempts to harm the integrity of our democracy since the Civil War – while observing that the Confederates never breached the Capitol,' a White House official said.

Democrats fear the new spate of voting rights laws will harm them at the voting booth in next year's midterm election, costing them control of the House and Senate.

Texas House Democrats who fled to Washington, D.C., this week to block a GOP measure overhauling state election procedures urged Congress to pass sweeping new voting rights legislation, an acknowledgement that their high-profile stunt is unlikely to ultimately stop Republicans in their home state from enacting voting restrictions.

So much for respecting representative democracy - since some of our posters are bent out of shape about "minority rule" I'm sure they are highly critical of this move.

Live updates: Texas House Democrats land in Washington, D.C., after fleeing state to block voting restrictions legislation

I am, actually.

They should stay, make their argument, vote, lose, then use it to tilt the scales back to a more sensible majority in their legislature and overcome the problem. Sue the State in federal court in the interim, if need be.

Best way to show the country what these Relublican legislatures are up to is to shine a light on it, not confuse the issue with antics.
