I have a standby generator and transfer switch, I have a FEMA spec storm room in my home. We have enough food and water to survive any major weather event and could actually survive an EF3 direct hit on our home.I disagree with your opinion.
I would not expect to die in such a manner. Now, I take note of all the Clint Eastwood types on here, but still, a person in the United States of America who pays his utility bills on time... SHOULD NOT FREEZE TO DEATH IN THEIR OWN DAMN LIVING ROOM!Would you have sat in your recliner and froze to death if your electricity was out?

Would a tornado check the guys account status with the utility company before rolling thru his house?I would not expect to die in such a manner. How are these normal circumstances? This was a freak once in a lifetime storm. It was colder in Dallas than it was in Minneapolis, and it was around 10 degrees in Minneapolis and Chicago. This would be like an earthquake in Florida or a hurricane hitting the West Coast.I would not expect to die in such a manner. Things that should never happen in the United States of America:
#1. Freezing to death inside of your residence when you are paying your electricity bill on time.
