here's the deal. we have more talent than we ever have w/ any of bruce's team. what's the problem, simple. this team has no bball iq. not only that this whole year we have improved zero on D. also the flex offense is absolutely pathetic. this is an offense that i ran when i was in junior high school. to be honest i like bruce, and i understand that teams have bad years. however to see no improvement thru out the year is disappointing.

As an objective observer I am stunned by how a lot of Vol fans are quick to condemn the coach. The coach doesn't miss layups, doesn't miss free throws, and doesn't loaf on the court.

This is simply a rebuilding year. Get it through your heads. UT lost some great players from last year and the program isn't to the point of simply reloading year in and year out.

It has taken Cal almost 9 years to get to the point of simply reloading. Check his early years at Memphis when losing a couple of players to graduation, dismissals, jumping to the draft, etc. made for some frustrating years. It doesn't happen overnight.

Better to be patient with what you have. I don't see what better coach Vols could get.

the coach's job is to make his players better. This team is getting worse and to exonerate CBP is ridiculous

This thread, its OP and some of the subsequent posters are why condoms are a good idea! Some Tennessee "fans" if thats what you want to call them absolutely beggar belief

what exactly does pearl have to do with missing free throws and 2 foot layups??? The players are not that good. He is coaching them, they are not responding.

He did recruit every single one of these players. . .he can't make free throws or shots, but he can recruit players who can. . .

No one is saying bruce pearl is doing a great job, but this team just has no chemistry. It shows in our offense just passing the ball around the perimeter no cuts or anything. Plus Chism and Prince who are supposed to be leaders just appear to mope around when things don't go their way. For lack of a better phrase this team has no heart.

Yes, you are crazy to think that our basketball program should be in the position where we can reload every year instead of rebuild. We should have really lowered our expectations after signing the class we did last year. No way should we have believed anyone coming in would make an immediate impact and that this team would be in the position to make a deep run into the NCAA tourney.

Not exonerating BP. Fans just need to be realistic and realize the talent level is not there to have such high expectations.

Vols are a poor shooting team. They have inexperienced, overrated guards that lack toughness. Hard to win against good teams with this combo.

I can not stand it when somebody says "Well its not the coachs fault he doesnt miss the layups or miss the pass" well if this was true than a coach would never get fired. The team is the coachs responsibility. Nobody ever said get rid of Bruce, we are just disappointed in what is going on this year.

then it still comes back to CBP since he's in charge of recruiting too. Still waiting for you to make a point

Bruce's girlfriend needs to buy him some nicer clothes---that outfit he wore was hideous.

Bottom line...we just don't match up well against Kentucky. Bruce is doing the best he can with the youth he has.

P.S. We don't have a 3 point shooter like in years past.

2008 class was a good one. However, I didn't see any 1 and done players in this class that take a team to the next level their freshman year (ala Rose or Tyreke).

Hopson needs to put on around 20-25 lbs. and some ball handling skills in order to dominate. This class, if it stays together for a couple of years, should be special.

Look around the country, some of the best players are Fresh and Sophs. . .that argument doesn't hold water

Hopson was supposed to be, if I am not mistaken I think Hopson was higher ranked the Tyreke. Tyreke is a great ball player, I enjoy watching him play, he gets better every game and has done all this through a position change.
