here's the deal. we have more talent than we ever have w/ any of bruce's team. what's the problem, simple. this team has no bball iq. not only that this whole year we have improved zero on D. also the flex offense is absolutely pathetic. this is an offense that i ran when i was in junior high school. to be honest i like bruce, and i understand that teams have bad years. however to see no improvement thru out the year is disappointing.
the coach's job is to make his players better. This team is getting worse and to exonerate CBP is ridiculous
As an objective observer I am stunned by how a lot of Vol fans are quick to condemn the coach. The coach doesn't miss layups, doesn't miss free throws, and doesn't loaf on the court.
This is simply a rebuilding year. Get it through your heads. UT lost some great players from last year and the program isn't to the point of simply reloading year in and year out.
It has taken Cal almost 9 years to get to the point of simply reloading. Check his early years at Memphis when losing a couple of players to graduation, dismissals, jumping to the draft, etc. made for some frustrating years. It doesn't happen overnight.
Better to be patient with what you have. I don't see what better coach Vols could get.
Not exonerating BP. Fans just need to be realistic and realize the talent level is not there to have such high expectations.
Vols are a poor shooting team. They have inexperienced, overrated guards that lack toughness. Hard to win against good teams with this combo.
Yes, you are crazy to think that our basketball program should be in the position where we can reload every year instead of rebuild. We should have really lowered our expectations after signing the class we did last year. No way should we have believed anyone coming in would make an immediate impact and that this team would be in the position to make a deep run into the NCAA tourney.
2008 class was a good one. However, I didn't see any 1 and done players in this class that take a team to the next level their freshman year (ala Rose or Tyreke).
Hopson needs to put on around 20-25 lbs. and some ball handling skills in order to dominate. This class, if it stays together for a couple of years, should be special.
