The 2008 Carolina Panthers thread

Stewart is good. 2-0 without their best player... well done. Dline looks scary again, thanks to peppers who took some time off it seemed like.

I was never fully sold on New Orleans and the Bucs and Falcons shouldn't matter at all. Your Panthers should easily roll out of the South and with what should be 5 wins minimum out of the conference, you could easily get a bye in the first round of the playoffs and a home game.

I wouldn't go that far quite yet...problems need to be fixed first and everyone needs to stay healthy.

Very true, but bear in mind, the Panthers are one injury away from a so-so season. If Jake goes down again, it might be 88 and out the gate.

Exactly, whether it is Jake, Smith, King, etc. it would not look good. Keeping the fingers crossed for a healthy team all season.

Guys, I'm really liking the fight the Panthers have this season.

We said earlier when we got word to the suspension that this would either bring the team closer together or they would completely fall apart. It really looks like this team healed their emotional wounds before the regular season even started.

After Jake got hit on the ground in the fourth quarter, the defense was fired up and determined to back him up. That's what I like to see. You've also gotta believe that Steve Smith is simply going to let his play do the talking. With his addition to the offense, it should be a wild ride.

Most definitely. There are a lot of clips that show panthers saying that score or some other play was for "you steve smith" or something of the like; Great to show him that even though they are getting it done, they still miss him as a part of the team.

Well they know that adding his presence to the offense can really make this team dangerous. Winning cures most everything. With Steve Smith, we win a lot more than we lose.

Without him, well, we play in a lot more close games...and you can't win em all.

nice win, again. great home win. momentum building. but at some point they are going to to have to come to life before the 4th quarter.

but can't argue with the results so far........great start to the season. this team is poised to make some noise this season.

I think with Steve Smith, you'll see us come to life in the first quarter this week.

Oh that sucked today. Plenty of penalties again. They tried to do too much before the half and it bit them in the butt.

Their O-line looked horrible today, I don't remember it looking so bad the past two games.:ermm:

it's not a terrible loss, but the fumble at hte end of the half was unforgiveable. that was on jake. he's got to know who's coming and who's not. it was a perfect blitz.

I'm starting to share your concerns about the penalities. They need to get it fixed quickly.

This weeks game is very important,I hope they will be ready.

Go Panthers !

I hope so too, ATL performed just fine and dandy yesterday...

Not a fan of sitting on a tie with a minute left before halftime immediately following a game changing score.

Nor am I a fan of calling timeout before the field goal, only if we had 12 men on the field do you make that call.

You have to save the TO's when you know you're gonna be down 2 scores in the fourth quarter. I also would have gone for it on 4th and 6 with 6 minutes to go on Minnesota's side of the field.

it was a TERRILBE sports weekend for me.......save the Ryder cup. USA, USA!!!

Ok coach. :p That TO before the FG I'm not sure what was going on to make them call that. Oh what could have been. Minnesota just hurt us when they had the ball for like a 11 min drive.

Can't say I'm terribly upset about seeing the steelers lose. :) But I would rather see Dallas lose and their opponents are not helping me out.
