The 2008 Carolina Panthers thread

I thought Peppers had his best game and it was nice to see Moose and Smith get TD's.

Penalities are still a problem though, and its gonna cost them if they don't get it fixed.

Bring on the Chiefs

Go Panthers !

you know you love him.

Not just yet, we will see as the season goes along, too early to jump on the jake train.

Yes, bring them on, I will be at that game. Woo! :clapping:

:eek:lol:right now it's reall funny that my name is jake.

I jumped on the Jake train after 1 half in 2003.

Apparently he hasn't felt completely healthy, until now, since 2004.

another good win for the panthers. Classy move by Smith on his TD too. I still think the Panthers could go far, although they must win their division. Both wild cards are likely coming out of the East.

Woo! Go panthers!!!! What a great game to go to! The environment was fun, finally getting to go to a home win in a few years! If any of you have gone to a panthers game, they normally give something out free, like before I've gotten a medal, calendar, scarf, etc. Today they gave out towels, which were being swung around...kind of had the steelers game feel (Jake you would have fit right in. :birgits_giggle:)

Over all things looked great. Should have had more defensive interceptions easily, about three dropped right into the hands of players. Oh well, love a good shut out. Anyone know the last time that happened?

On a side note, I kind of took a panther flag. I was walking back to my car with my friend, and a car passed us with a couple panther flags...one fell off and my friend asked me if I wanted it; I was like if it fell off it probably is broken, but he went into the street and retrieved it, and it was not broken. So I took it.

You picked a great day to be there. What was the Tix situation like? I'm thinking about heading up some weekend and was wondering if I need to Tix before hand. It looked pretty much sold out on TV.

I thought the Panthers played solid today and hopefully they can carry that on to Tampa Bay.

I'm very happy to be 4-1

Today was definitely not sold out, I have never scalped at a pro game though, not sure if it is as easy as at UT. I was even looking on craigslist this weekend at the ticket situation and tickets were being sold under face. There were open seats around me as well. I think the only sold out games are Green Bay and Tampa Bay.

Total domination.

That very winnable game against Minnesota stings.

I know, but it was a lesson learned for the guys to make corrections on the major mistakes they made during that game. Better to have it early on in the season.

I'm thinking about going up for the Saints game and there does seem to be plenty of Tix on Craiglist and E-bay.I haven't been up there in a few years and it used to be easy to get cheap tix outside ,but with them doing well it might be better to buy online.

Muhammad is playing as well as i can remember.

It's great having him back

great way to start the season........now we get in to the nuts and bolts at Tampa this weekend. they win Sunday and all the sudden they have a pretty tight grip on the division 1/3 of they way thru.......

The win over ATL two weeks ago now looks huge. Tampa is a little banged up, but then again so is Steve Smith.

Goodness, I forgot how valuable Moose was this decade. He's growing into one of my all-time favorites.

Mike Minter may never lose that spot though. Mills is a close second, too.

Moose is one of the crowd favorites for sure.

I think we have a good chance to go in and get the win at TB. I think Carolina is looking much better than TB right now.

hello? anyone in there?

what a putrid performance all around yesterday. makes you wonder which one is the real Panthers team........the one that dismantled a bad KC team or the one that wilted against a pretty good Tampa team........

two complete ends of the spectrum one week to the next. that's just wrong in the NFL. it's still early and they're tied for the lead in the division, but they simply cannot afford to show up like that if they are going to be what they think they are........a play off team.

anyway.......just a freakin' debacle.

Well that was just a pitiful game. I'm hoping that yesterday was well just yesterday because they played horrible on all sides of the ball, special teams, offense, and defense. Second time this season that a blocked punt was run in for an easy TD.

TB is our Monday night game and hopefully with the home crowd at night, the second time around will be much more eventful on offense.

Nothing really to say other than the Panthers got theirs butts whipped.

Its only one game, so I'm not ready to panic, but it was very disappointing.

my issue is the wild inconsistency from week to week.......i mean, i'd feel a lot better about losing that game had they been able to make any kind of push to get back in it.....they got punched in the mouth (14-0) and never recovered. when they couldn't get in and had to settle for 3 after 3 shots from the one........i knew it was definitely over for that game.

so, i'm like you all.......hope it was just one game, but i'm afraid it might not be.......got New Orleans coming up........we'll see.

Inconsistency seems to be a plague for many teams this year.

Hopefully the Panthers will play like world beaters against the Saints
