i think this game is more important for Carolina than Atlanta. Atlanat is a bit of a surprise upstart in the NFC right now. Ryan is playing well, and ATL is leading the league in rushing. Ryan has yet to make the mistakes a rookie can to lose a game, and he's made enough plays down field that you have to respect it. dangerous combination.
for us, this is a game we're supposed to win. it's a home game. we lose it and go 2-2 this early, the same questions will come back about this team that have been here for the past 3 years. if this team is a real contender, then this is the kidn of game you win. plain and simple.
all that said, losing this game doesn't mean the season is over, but if early returns are correct, the NFC looks to have taken a giant leap in competition level, so 9-7 in this league for once might not be good enough.
For me, it's pretty simple. They had two of the worst teams in the league on their schedule, and beat them both: Detroit and Kansas City.
If the Panthers can stop Turner/Norwood, then Matt Ryan will try to take some shots and he will burn himself.
Also, Steve Smith's ultimate nemesis, DeAngelo Hall, is no longer in ATL so I expect him to have a big day while the running game controls the clock throughout the game.
in fairness, i think you have to check your drafting skills if you're drafting a TE from the panthers and expecting serious contributions for your fantasy team.
very pleased over all.......the only two things i thought really needed work......3rd down conversions on offense and penalties.......otherwise, they played very well, nice to get a double digit home win.
Windy, you posted a link that is praising Jake Delhomme? WTF?
