Definitely, and I think his ceiling for all leagues this year is around 160 innings.

The Phillies closer situation has been shady as issue surrounds around the effectiveness of Brad Lidge, who is coming off offseason elbow and knee surgeries. Lidge is working with his recovery down with at minor league camp, but the question is will he be fully healthy. Lidge will start the year on the DL with the possibility of making his season debut on April 10 against Houston. For now, expect Ryan Madson to start out the season as the closer.

Good chance for the Braves to pick up some games in between them and the Phils early on.

Not sure how much of an impact Lidge's health will really have. He was a train wreck at times last year anyway.

Yeah, but it stretches the BP and he's the best option (I believe) they've got anyway.

Interesting that he introduces a new pitch, a cutter, on the last week of the regular season.

Looks like the thyroid hormone levels that he has been struggling was addressed and he is back at Mets camp. His main problem is his tendon in his right hamstring, which he had offseason surgery on, could play a role on his effectiveness and may play havoc with his right leg and other body parts. In addition, he has had an extended layoff.

Watched the Braves game on tv today

Hudson looked brilliant, and Jayson Heyward seems like a seasoned vet in attitude and talent... scary good.

I like that description. Griffey-ish.
His spring training this year was, essentially, "I'm going to put you in a position to force you to keep me here."

While it was projected that Nationals shortstop Cristian Guzman was going to be the starting shortstop, it appears not to be the case as phenom Ian Desmond has won the position. Desmond burst into the scene last season with his hitting. Guzman will be an utility player.

Agreed. I'm as pumped as the next Nats fan about desmond, but really Guzman? You get in this house and think about what you've done.

Do a job, Ian.

This pitching prospect has an electric arm that has quite a potential. Delivered 15 innings of one run ball. Went on a streak of eight starts going 3-0 with a 1.94 ERA in Gulf Coast action. Garnered FSL Mid-Season All-Star honors. Ranked the 56th best prospect in Baseball America TOP 100 prospects. Considered a spot in the Futures Game but an injury prevented him of doing so.

Down in Phillies camp, the battle for the No. 5 spot goes to veteran Jamie Moyer. Moyer beat out Kyle Kendrick for the honors. Kendrick will originate from the bullpen

The Phillies lose a key piece to their rotation as No.3 starter Joe Blanton was put on the 15 due to a mild left oblique strain, which took place just yesterday. Estimates put him out from three to six weeks.

-The Braves and Phillies delivered beatdowns today and it was ugly.

-The Mets, well they need to prove last year was a fluke. Santana may have regained his form

-And there are the Nationals. Strasburg will be an Opening Day pitcher soon. Maybe in a couple of years.
