The 2012 London Olympics Thread

Here's a funny comment by a Nigerian basketball player after the throttling by USA in Men's Basketball:

"On the one side, it's terrible to get whupped like that," Nigeria's Koko Archibong said. "But on the other side, it was something impressive to be a part of – impressive to witness in person."

Anybody just see Oscar Pistorius run the 400 on artificial legs? That was incredible.

agreed, can't wait to see him tomorrow

but I do think the spring in the artificial legs would give him a little help

Former lady vol, Tianna Madison came in 4th in the 100. Which is really damn good

Those Jamaicans are fast, aren't they? Island has less than half the population of Tennessee. Go figure.

Anyone else hear U.S. Olympic swimmer Brendan Hansen thank the people of Knoxville for coming out and standing in the rain to see the teams practice just before the start of the games?

Awesome seeing how Hansen was one-fourth of the medley relay team that included Michael Phelps in his last race ever.

He made the statement on NBC when the team, including Phelps, was being interviewed after winning the gold medal in the 4 x 100 medley relay.

Seriously? No live coverage of the men's 100m semis and finals this afternoon? I understand tape delaying the big events during the week when people are at work, but on a Sunday afternoon putting womens water polo on over the premier event of the Olympics is just stupid.

Weird. At any rate, according to the Twitters, Gatlin had a faster preliminary time than Bolt. Any chance he pulls an upset?
