Exactly. Which is why MLB orgs reduced the number of farm clubs as the college game and player development improved. It cut overall org costs.The game has changed, imo. Why draft a 17 year old and hope he develops in the minors over 4-5 years when a kid can develop against other future MLBers in a conference like the SEC for 2-3 years.
FYI, Eric Cain with VQ said he's gotten updated info about Seibert over the past few days and feels pretty confident he won't be drafted.

The teams that consistently win or are in playoffs every season such as the Braves and Dodgers still went the high school route. They are in no hurry to rush players to MLB. It's good to see guys choose College route but I still rather draft a 17 year old and develop him in farm system.The game has changed, imo.
