Yes, the future is bright with those dudes. Losing Ramirez is no sweat. Nothing “sucks” about the way this draft went. Ramirez was way down the list of best recruits in this class, so I’ll gladly give him up to get Marin or Abernathy or Newstrom or Kuhns or Seibert or Clark or Hayse or Krenzel or Strickland or Wiggins on campus. But giving him (and Wagner) up to get all of those guys on campus? I’m over the moon. Grand slam is an understatement.Damn sucks to not get Manny’s kid on campus…oh well.
This lineup in the future or something like this
C: Levi Clark
1B: Evan Hankins (2025, kid is a monster)
2B: Arnold Abernathy
3B: Chris Newstrom
SS: Manny Marin
LF:
CF: Jaxon Walker
RF:
Pitching: Seibert (97mph), Kuhns (95mph), Strickland (97mph), Krenzel (95mph) Hayse (95mph), And Ryler (94mph)
@NighthawkVol I know baseball is hard to predict but the potential of this lineup in the future is off the charts
Yes, JUCO guys are different. The team has their rights for a year after the draft to still sign them if they remain in JUCO.August 1st according to Jonathan Mayo on MLB.
Question though how did the juco pitcher Drew Pestka drafted last year sign with Reds in June of this year? Do guys have different rules than 4 year college guys with signing?
it isnt, but nowadays 'finding onesself' in College is an expensive endeavor. There has to be a plan. Kids dont get to really get to enjoy not having that pressure, taking College classes in HS. Having to hit ground running, knowing their general major before they hit campus.I have a degree but do not use it. College is so overrated.
Cream rises to the top; competition will be fierce. Some may be over ranked/under ranked. Playing at UT and in the SEC is ultra-competitive as we know. Some of these talented kids won't sniff the lineup, in my opinion it takes a mix bag of stars and experienced hard working guys that earned the playing time.Another point I think we should all appreciate: Assuming Seibert joins the team as expected, Tony will be bringing six guys to campus who are more highly rated out of high school than anyone on the team that just won a national championship.
I really haven't seen anything aside from him just not wanting to go to school. I can't say with a great amount of certainty that that's correct, but we obviously know money isn't an issue for him. Why? That wasn't the feeling at all until he was (surprisingly) drafted.
You have degrees that actually gave you a marketable skill. Many degrees today just don't. If you are pursuing a STEM degree, law, accounting, medical, yes, college is valuable. With many other degrees, kids would be better off getting four years of actual work experience in a field that interests them.I get that it’s not for everyone, but I appreciate my education and degrees. I like learning
It’s important to have street smarts aka walking around sense.
