The Aftermath: What are the possibilities?

I think this whole ordeal is going to fizzle out in a couple more weeks and most people will silently wonder wtf we did this while publicly endorsing the excuse that it would have been 10s of times worse if we had not shut down.

No one will be wrong because because no one truly knows. Hopefully it just forces preparations for the next one

yes abortion is a fringe issue for the base. When has the right truly sought immigration reform (hint: they won't)? Tax and spend, borrow and spend, etc . Repubs love giving the breaks for the upper tiers (those less damaged) too.No difference in the 2 they just use our money for pet projects. Trump had damaged gun rights more than the previous dem administration so maybe you're right there.

You're buying the sales pitch not the actions. You're what they want in a party member. Their goal is power, not your happiness

Lol.

Sadly, you are right.

No you have fun. I insist. It must be a terrible thing to go through life not being able to make a decision especially when there are 2 different choices.
They limit it for you on purpose so you feel like part of the team. You're not choosing a person or policy you're just selecting the red or blue team. In the end both want to take money and rights but as long as it's your team you won't complain as much

There is a lot of truth in your analogy. These people do act like sports fans when it comes to their party.

whats the reaction when a UT player is arrested vs a UF player? Same with politics. Sure people like to claim the high road but in the end they don't care who puts on the helmet as long as they win.

Recent example - how many are posting and looking at cell phone movement heat maps and not wondering how that data is even legal?

My family and I have also been trying to get creative during this stay at home time for home projects. I recently ripped out an old deck and had it replaced with some really nice composite wood which is much more durable over time compared to traditional pressed lumber. Initially, I was going to haul it off but decided to remove all of the old nails and screws & cut it all up for firewood. Three days later and 8000 calories burned, the project is now done. I won’t need to purchase firewood for years.
Leave that wood put in the sun for a long time before burning and preferably outside. If you stained or treated the decks it's going to be soaked with all types of chemicals.

You can see the 911 calls here, once the sun starts going down it’s a steady stream of domestics and disorders. In the morning it’s all vehicle thefts from people going outside and seeing their car has been pilfered.
100% anecdotal but it has shocked me. but I hear a lot more about fighting than I used too.

I think its 1 part stress of a pandemic. 1 part stress of possibly not working or facing layoffs. And 1 part dealing with their s$%t more than in the past.

This is the scary part. It won't be necessarily a group of conspirators coming up with these changes. It will be the people begging for it.
We’ve already got businesses and people being fined or warned because busybody neighbors are snitching over the 1-800-STASI numbers.

It is wood for an outdoor fire pit.
That is even worse than burning it in your house because the smoke will be in your face most likely. If you don't care to breathe pressure treated wood smoke then have fun and carry on.

I can name the good and the bad possibilities

Good
* Working and schooling from home will pick up momentum
* With less need for rush hour commuting, less need for some highway expansion projects
* Jobs labeled "non-essential" during the outbreak will get re-examined (public sector and private sector)
* Tougher border laws

Bad
* Forced vaccinations
* Stronger Federal government
* Cellphone surveillance on normal people spikes
* Collapse of commercial real estate with the possible increase in workers from home
When has Government ever willingly ceded power back to it's citizens,? Can anyone name me an instance?
