The All Things Cycling Thread

Only been road riding for a few months but I have been impressed with the courtesy of drivers here.

Riding at the beach - old people driving rvs is frightening.

At the shop, the frame came in with some damage so Felt is shipping me an upgraded frame for free. The frame alone costs as more than I would have paid for the entire Z6. It's not Orange unfortunately.

Minus the color that is great news.

Oh yes, happy birthday to me. Although, the Z6 is freaking beautiful and almost said f it and I'll take it anyways. Lol. When he told me the frame alone was MSRP $1650 I couldn't pass it up.

I see people riding mtn bikes on the parkway fairly often. I don't think you'll get too many strange looks.

As long as you're on a bike you shouldn't get any looks. Or be worried about it anyways.

so i went riding yesterday. rode everything from dirt to railroad tracks without a hitch. then, i absolutely wipe out carrying my bike up on the porch to put it away. wth?

I've been doing some research on the Z6 vs. ZC frames and the only difference I can find is that the ZC frameset comes with a completely carbon fiber fork instead of a carbon/aluminum set-up. Other than that, the frames are identical.

The weather was too nice out yesterday to not ride a bike...so I decided to get more overtime at work instead.

is there a weight difference?

Yeah, but I can't find weight rating for the Z6 frameset, just the ZC. It weighs in at 1000g, the fork is 540g of that and full carbon. I assume the Z6 fork is around 650g being aluminum/carbon. I'm by no means a weight weenie, so it doesn't matter all that much except a smoother ride on the ZC.

The bike might look odd with a black and white frameset and orange accents on the seat, handlebars, tires, and spoke nipples. We'll see.
