Great ride. Coming down the mountain from Cades Cove is orgasmic. 5 miles of 25-30+ mph with no need for brakes.

Yeah, I hate descents where you have to ride your brakes around every curve.

Nice that you had a good ride. I might have seen about hooking up with you, but I have a physical issue that's preventing me from riding normally right now.

I've not been to the Cove with a bike in several years. In summers past I used to ride around with some friends after sunset. One time the night sky was so clear you could see a satellite overhead.

Fun times.

That would be a great ride at night. if you're healed next trip I'll ride with you.

group ride in Maryville this morning. 40 miles. my legs are dead.

Mass rides are stupid. Let's break all of the rules and piss people off to prove a point.

Yeah, I was a bit confused as to what these mass rides are about. So it's just a bunch of renegades out being jerks?

Overall I find the riders here to be pretty aware of how to ride in the city, but you still get some on campus who blow through stop lights with wilful disregard of their own safety.

600 miles this month. That's a lot more than I've ever done in a month. If I didn't have a race on Sunday, then I'd push for 1000 miles. Guess I'll just settle for 1000km and more.

Mountain bike Monday and Tuesday night, rode the fat bike around town tonight.

Saw my PT on Tuesday... she said I have a piece of my patella floating around on the front of my knee. Like it was chipped from a fall or something. You can actually feel it, move it around with a finger, and sometimes see it poking out. No pain so I have to go ahead to keep racing. Speaking of which... not excited to race on Sunday. My least favorite trail by far. Nothing but steep, technical climbs.

Double duty tonight. 6:30AM 20 mile ride while half asleep. 6:45PM 30 miles at a meh pace. Completed the 30 hours in 13 days challenge on Strava. I'm 60km from 1000km in June.

Bent my derailuer, broke spokes and trashed my hub all at once coming down a nasty downhill. Had to walk mile out and wait an hour for friends to come get me.

It sucked. Hadn't had a mechanical in years and then a trifecta.

I hit a log yesterday and thought I had bent my derailleur when something was tinging on my spokes. I stopped and was passed by a handful of guys... it was just my freaking cable end.

I've ridden virtually no miles since Sunday. 20 leisurely miles last night for tacos and beer and then 5 this morning for errands. My legs are still tired.
