The All Things Cycling Thread

I'm going on a bikepacking trip on Saturday. It's 120ish miles round-trip. Camping one night. I hope it warms up a bit or I may cancel. I don't have campig gear for anything less than 40°.

Curious if any of you have a spin bike for indoor training? I have been looking at them really hard but can't decide. If anyone has an opinion I would be very appreciative.

I have a trainer for my road bike. I don't use it. I get uncomfortable and bored and it's loud. Spin bikes are about the same, but sometimes louder and feel nothing like your own bike.

They are good for interval and base training. I used to use one quite regularly at the gym but would never buy one.

If you're riding a loud spin bike it's broken.

These people are nuts. Give me a road + crazy drivers any day over this:

Where is it?

Portland.

Night mountain bike ride in Iowa City tonight was fun. Free beer and chili. Should have ridden before eating. Flatted my front tire 1/2 mile into the ride, ended up borrowing someone else's fat bike who was too drunk/high to ride.
