martin ashton one of the riders and producer of this video was doing a demo in september and fell off a 10' platform. He landed on his back dislocating two vertebrae. He's paralyzed at the moment and they are unsure if he'll ever walk again.

I remember reading about that. It sucks. These guys are doing things I only dreamed of when I wasa kid.

Too bad for him.

I get all the thrill of danger I want (and more) just riding in traffic.

I fell down a flight of stairs thanks to my cycling shoes. Maybe broken ankle.

That sucks man. Thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery.

Rode a friend's 26" the other day and it was immediately apparent how much easier it is to build and most importantly maintain speed on my 29". I'm in love with this thing. Really really want to buy a road bike with my tax money, but I need to save it because I'm moving from Ft Bragg to Norfolk in the summer and I need it to help offset costs. I ride the Rockhopper mountain bike all over. With my current role as Radar O'Riley for my company, I'm always making 2-3 mile trips to HQ, JAG, etc to take care of paperwork so I ride the bike. My thighs are getting rock hard.

What is odd is how different bike fit and running fit are. I need to find a good balance of doing both if I'm going to pull off this half tri by end of next year.

Uh oh. You were wearing them and slipped?

Yeah, was wearing my Keen mountain bike shoes. There was plastic runner on the stairs and I slipped and went crashing down. No break, just a sprain. I was able to ride home. I'm going for a ride this afternoon in the snow. We'll see how that goes. I was supposed to race this morning but all the snow from Friday night put that to bed. Not a fan of driving several hours in blowing snow.

16 miles in 5" of snow on my cross bike. Fresh powder is fun to ride in. Once it gets compacted it no longer becomes fun because you constantly have to fight the bike from steering itself.

Thirty miles yesterday puts me over 4500 for the year on all bikes. Personal best and I'm going to add more snow miles to it on Sunday. Fat bike racing on 1/12 and 1/19.
