They could have all been part of a group buy in which they got discounts based on the number of people ordering. Were they in a group or separate?

lol @ side of the road comment! i ride a mountain bike so i look like a wayward traveler searching for a trail. :/ and i have never seen a road biker stopped, now that i think of it..

Shame is a powerful motivator. :)

probably but I would never do it.

Why not?

And I've never seen a roadie pulled over unless talking on a phone or waiting for a riding partner.

T-minus one week until I'm on a proper bike.

Why

unless I'm in a race, I dont see the point in matching my friends. Just seems like something a pro team would do not a local club training ride. I wouldnt play ball at the gym wearing a d wade jersey while my friends rocked the lebron and bosh jersey too.

Well the weather has improved and it's time to break out the mountain bike for some trail riding. Anyone invested in one of the Camelback systems for biking and have anything to say about it?

I'm thinking of getting one soon because my water bottle getting snagged and falling out of the cage has become quite common.

Camelbacks work great. Clean it after every ride or it wil get nasty. simple trick - use a couple drops of bleach and fill with hot water. rinse well then throw it in the freezer till next time.

Question - how does your water bottle get snagged?

Thanks for the input and I'm not really sure. I think I bent the cage a bit and now it'll fall out if I go through some brush or hit a rough part of the trail. I just figured a camelback would be much more convenient to use.

sounds like you do some rugged bush biking, bruh.:salute:

ditto. My motto - it ain't a ride till somebody bleeds.

Guy sold the two Specialized frames out from under me. Oh well. I'll just use the money to get new bib shorts or something.

Somewhat off topic, does anybody do serious mountain biking? That's something I would be interested in getting into.

mountain biking is great. its like hiking in fast forward. get the absolute best bike you can afford. stay away from Target or Wal Mart. a good bike will always be there waiting even if you dont hit it off mountain biking. try and research trails before you ride them. dont put wd-40 on your chain.

Solid. Use Tri-Flow on chains. Unless you're riding some crazy trails, I wouldn't get lured into a full suspension MTN bike. But then again, I'm not a mountain bike guy.

what a tool... do bib shorts cost 100 bucks? surely not..

Good ones are even more. Bonktown.com has deals on them sometimes (chainlove.com for mountain bikes). I almost bought some at $79.99 a week ago, but I passed because I want my bike first. I can't find my shorts right now but they're pretty beat after two full seasons in them. They're Canari's from Dunham's Sports so they're not quality by any means. Probikekit.com has some sweet deals on team kits, too. I might just splurge on a LiveSTRONG kit.

Although, the Euskaltel-Euskadi kit (Probikekit.com | NEW 2011Team Kit | Euskaltel Euskadi Team Cycling Bib Shorts - 2011 and Probikekit.com | Euskaltel - Euskadi Clothing | Euskaltel Euskadi Team Short Sleeve Cycling Jersey - 2011) is pretty awesome. They'll match my bike.

Now, if only the E-E Catlike helmets were available in the US.

I'm going to upgrade pedals from my Look Arc's to probably some Speedplays or Time RXS's, maybe Shimano Ultegra SPD if I can find them on the cheap.

chainreactioncycles.com has great deals on parts. Based in the uk so you have to wait a week for shipping but the savings are worth it.

10+ miles on the single speef mountain bike. Great ride till I'm 100 yds from the car. Long downhill I could ride in my sleep but somehow I slid off the trail and endo'd. Taco'd my front wheel. At least I was close to the car. I'm an idiot.

How'd you slide off the road/path? I did that once at night and ended up over my handlebars and on my back, unconscious. Good thing I was with a group of friends.
