The All Things Cycling Thread

Tell me about it. Two straight weekends have been nearly a complete washout. SMH.

Today started overcast and I thought I was going to get drenched. I headed out to do some gravel riding since the trails are all closed. 15 minutes into my ride there wasn't a cloud in the sky and I forgot sunscreen. I opted not to do gravel and just ride a 45mi loop that I usually do on my road bike. I got a gnarly sunburn.

5 miles of trail tonight, 50% climbing. Rode with a friend that just picked up mountain biking.

Here's my new frame. It's built, but no complete photos yet.

I took it for a short spin tonight. The frame is noticeably different. A LOT different. It's 5oz lighter than my 2011. It's stiffer and accelerates a lot faster. Shorter wheelbase and the handling is "snappier." I can't wait to take it out tomorrow night for a quick spin and see how she climbs, and then Thursday night for a good hard ride.

Nothing about my cycling is very "snappy."

Handling, man. I like to divebomb corners, this just feels more stable. I'll post complete photos tonight. I now need to get some PRO bars, stem, and seatpost to match the bike. Or Enve components would match better, but are way out of my price range.

I bought a new saddle and it was great right out of the box......Titanico X....my ass has thanked me three times and my junk did too

It'll thank you even more once the leather is broken in. Remember to care for it or it'll begin to hate you.

Photo taken last night. I'm using a Prologo Kappa Evo saddle. It's my favorite I've used so far. It's small so no chaffing.

The stem. Or is there something odd about your handlebars? They're at a weird angle.

Stem is flipped. It's a -6*, 110mm 3T ARX Team stem. It's probably because the front wheel is slightly turned in the photo and it's taken from a little below. I noticed that they look weird. They're set up parallel to the ground.

29 miles tonight, need to make some slight changes. So far I'm loving the new frame. Aiming for 80+ on Sunday, thinking I'll ride to my mom's place to surprise her for lunch.

I need to get a descent ride in this weekend. I signed up for a century in mid-June, but haven't been doing any distance due to a joint ailment the past six weeks (the lousy weather hasn't helped).

There's a one-day ride from here to Chicago in June that I wish I could do, but it's on a Saturday and I have to work. It's like 250 miles or something.

Correction: RAIL North is 170 miles and starts a half mile from my doorstep. Moline to Chicago on the longest day of the year. I can't find a specific route, though.
