As much as i hate Cal i must admit, that was awesome. Well played sir:hi:

One thing about Calapari is that he's an elite recruiter, but an average coach. With all the talent he had this year, you'd think he'd least make it to the NCAA tournament but instead he gets beat in the first round of the NIT. With all the talent he has coming in this year, there shouldn't be any excuse for him to not make the NCAA tournament. It also depends if his players can work together and not be selfish which I highly doubt that they will. I mean for lords sake, some of his players think they can take MJ 1 on 1. If Calapari fails like he did this year, UK fans aren't going to be happy with him at all!

Anyone who thinks Cal is anywhere near the hot seat is wrong. And I couldn't disagree more with your first statement. Cal tired a ton of different things with last years team, they just never clicked. And it's been brought up, but we were on the rise when Noel got hurt. Can't say where they would have gone if hadn't got hurt.

He's shown that he is a good coach without deep teams. Next year will be an interesting year because we'll have depth, albeit very young players.

I agree. What has also been forgotten about FSU is that his teammate, good friend, and fellow Canadian XRM is also headed to FSU.

For what it's worth, Wiggins' high school coach was on the radio in Louisville (KSR) last Thursday and he thinks if Wiggins were going to FSU he would have committed there by now. His coach went on to say that he hates disappointing friends and may be waiting until nearer the end of school before giving his friend the bad news.

Smokescreen :)

If Kentucky misses the 2014 Final Four, the bulk of the team leaves for the Draft, and the 2014-15 team is on the same Bubble that '13 UK was on before Noel's injury, I think a lot of UK fans will be unhappy with the overall returns.

That's true of any UK coach, no Kentucky team should ever be on the bubble

That's basically my point.
I think any reasonable UK fan would take a two-year return of an NC and an NIT loss every time. But the counterweight to the Bubble years realistically won't always be an NC.
That said, if the annual attrition drops to the level seen this year, the Bubble years won't return.

That was an Arkansas fan, btw. Let's be clear about it. We have our share of idiots, but I won't claim responsibility for him.

Pretty sure that's "Big Bubba Hog" from Fayetteville. I met an Arky fan at a past SECT, roughly 2007. That's what he called himself. I think that's him.

I'm tired of thinking about Wiggins...wake me up when he commits (to UNC)

That's funny because I think the same thing, except insert UK in your parentheses. Just the hot place to be at the moment.

Hopefully anywhere but. UNC would make a lot of sense for him though.

And yes, I agree with you that UNC would make the most sense. Hopefully you have to worry about that. haha!

Maybe his parents are still trying to get him at FSU. I feel that may be holding him back. He should have committed to either UNC or UK by now because the team is settled (guys going nba, staying, or others committed). Wiggins will probably knows where he wants to go, but still is holding back.

Yesterday, it was going around on Inside Carolina board that Roy and Wiggins' father have been in quite a bit of communication here lately. If true, the thinking is that his father likes Roy and UNC, but perhaps the younger Wiggins is not so sold on the fact. Could just be message board rumors though, as most of his recruitment has been. I have to believe if it weren't for the simple fact that UK already has basically 25 5 star recruits coming in next year, he'd already be another. I think it's causing him some hesitation, but I still expect him to go the UK route when all is said and done.
