Time to knock City off their perch.

RVP will be the next Berbatov, and will have about the same output for Man U as he has for Holland recently.

If anything Arsenal won in this deal. Caz,Podolski, and Giroud plus more (I assume) will bring Arsenal trophies this year. You might even see us being the ones to knock City off the top.

I'm not really sure this even improves United. They are still sorely shallow in the midfield. Van Persie won't replicate this past season and he's 29. I think it's a real good move for Arsenal.

Obviously, I hope you are wrong, but I won't be terribly upset if you all win the league. I just don't want City to win it again. I think he will help us if he can bring his scoring prowess with him.

Spent a lot of time injured, had a great past 18 months and Arsenal cashed in on it. Hate to see him go, but I imagine, as said before, he'll come in off the bench, a la Berba. Hate to see him go, as I bought his shirt last year, but meh, whatever. His statement pretty much made it to where he had to be sold, but I imagine he thought he was going to be much richer and somewhere else, a la Juve or City.

Reading the Arsenal blogs, this pretty much ensures no legacy for him at Arsenal, a la Henry.

Javi Martinez to Bayern for $40 million Euros rumor floating around. He looks like a very nice player, but I'm not convinced he is $40 million nice, plus he would be going into a position where we are fairly deep with Schweinsteiger, Gustavo, and Kroos. To me, the money could be spent on striker that has some ball control and can finish in a big match, or center defense where we are still very woeful at times. Maybe they're planning on playing him CB.

Regarding RVP. United would have been better off to spend the money on their midfield or back line. Arsenal clearly won in that deal, especially long term.

rvp's transfer fee was $37.8 million and his wages are $370,000 a week including image rights

All told if (when) he finishes his contract, man u will be into him for just under $115 million

Nothing that I know of, I was just flipping to PTI yesterday, caught the last 2-3 seconds of ATH and saw Plaschke rocking a l'arse scarf and cap and Reali saying "So you're an arsenal fan now"

Either way, if Bill Plaschke and Piers Morgan like something and I like the opposite, I know I've made the right choice

It all starts tomorrow. I am hoping Arsenal start the season with a huge win. Hopefully, they don't start the season by selling Alex Song to Barca tomorrow or Sunday.

Apparently the deal has been agreed to and we will know if it is true if he isn't on the pitch tomorrow. My guess is if he goes Sahin walks in the door before it even shuts.

Other news...

- Dempsey will be fined for sitting out of Fulham's opener in a petition for a move to Liverpool. He's officially on the way out.
- Joao Moutinho looks unlikely to sign with Spurs for now :)/)
