Some other potential motives for Willian to Chelsea... Could be part of a bargaining chip to move Juan Mata to Man U in exchange for Rooney.

Lamela could still happen.

Gunners did just enough to quiet critics ( like me ) I thought they played with energy and didn't make stupid mistakes I realize Fulham is not a top team but the game was at their place. Good win. Still need to buy some depth because with an injury we are in bad shape. I'm not giving up GO GUNNERS
What is going to happen with Bale?

The Reds are off to their best start in 5 years. I'll take 6 points, 2 GF, 0 GA to start. Big, big, big game next week against the Red Devils

Some unlucky plays and extremely good performance by Swans keeper. A lot of these new guys have zero EPL experience, give Paulinho, Chadli, Capoue and Soldado time to gel. There's a lot of quality in that group. Once they get used to the pace and settled, many goals will be had.

Also LOL @ City.

I'll second that LOL at City.

For Spurs, 6 points is 6 points, regardless of how bad they looked collecting them. The challenge ramps up considerably next weekend with the North London Derby, so hopefully the quality starts to show itself soon.

It really hasn't been that bad. Through two games there has been tons of great possession and quality chances (10 shots on frame in 180 minutes and probably 5-6 more just wide) and two penalties in two games says attacking football. Not to mention excellent defensive shifts by Vertonghen, Chadli, etc. this is basically an all new XI, many of whom had zero EPL experience prior to the season. Things will be alright.

As I am going to be doing Sports Journalism at Uni starting next month, I am forced to watch Soccer. Going to watch the Man U Chelsea game tonight...

Can any of you give me a quick low down on what to look for? Who's favourite, players to watch for and what this game means for the standings?

Would appreciate it. Thanks.

Don't sound so disappointed, you're super lucky to get to attend this game. Chelsea and Man U are probably the odds on favorites to win the EPL this year, and their rosters are a who's who of some of the best international football has to offer. Everyone on the pitch will be world class. As for what it means to the standings, not a whole lot in the grand scheme right now because it's only the second game for Man U and the third for Chelsea, but you can expect these two to be duking it out all year long for the top spot, so any points either team can collect could likely be critical come May.

Thanks for the info. All I know is that I support Spurs loosely because they are local lol.:ermm:

Living in England, I trust you're familiar with the name Wayne Rooney.

Should be a good match this Sunday when Arsenal plays at home vs the Spurs. It's on at 11 ET so I should be able to watch (I checked and it's going to be on NBCSN).

Many times I check on that channel and they are showing racing or something

Alright. I've decided to give this EPL thing a shot this season. The problem is, I know I won't ever take an interest if I don't have a certain team to root for. On the NBC Sports site, they have a somewhat tongue-in-cheek side finding tool. It says I'm a Chelsea fan. I know they're one of the big dogs, so I fear if I choose them as my team, that makes me a front runner, a la all the Bama fans in Murfreesboro. What do you all think?

Arsenal. Big team, but could struggle a bit this year so you could endure a season of some hardships but will still compete all year and finish near the top.

Have some injury issues to overcome already. And like my above post, you can watch them this weekend in a good game at their home stadium and see what you think

Forgot to mention that Arsenal is the one team off limits. I had a former boss who's an Englishman and that's his team. Can't stand him. Who is Arsenal's big rival? That might be a good place to start.

Spurs are their rival, and my local team.

I went to see Arsenal when they played my League 1 side Leyton Orient, it was the most awful experience as a fan of my life. The Gunners fans were horrific, and Orient are not even a real rival. Felt very unsafe there.
