Everton really gave City a run for their money today, but just didn't quite have enough to throw Liverpool a lifelife. Unfortunately for Liverpool, that was probably their last prayer of City dropping points. The last two games should be a cakewalk.

Yep. All over but the crying now for the Reds. However, bring in another skilled midfielder and defender with the CL money and they're in the hunt again next year.

Now now. It's not over yet. It wasn't long ago that MC drew at home against Sunderland.

Sunderland has been on fire for about a month now. Villa and West Ham, not so much. There's obviously a chance they blow it, but I'd put their odds of winning the title at 95%+ at this point.

Well, the title race is over now. Really sad for Steven Gerrard to get that close one final time this late in his career and come up short yet again. Their defense just wasn't good enough. They were able to score goals at near historic rates, but just couldn't ever keep clean sheets.

Now it's over. Drawing with Crystal Palace. Man, what a way to blow it at the end...

Even if they'd held on 3-0, that was going to be pretty worthless. They needed something like 6-0 wins today and Sunday, and still had to hope City struggled to score in their final two matches.

Celtic United is really kicking arse this season in Scotland, they are 30-5-1. The next victim is St Johnstone. I wonder how Celtic would do against Liverpool or Manchester City?

I'm not sure how they'd fair against either of those teams, but in the Champions League this year the were grouped with Barça, AC Milan and Ajax and had one win and five losses with a goal differential of -11.

Yikes! I follow Scottish football and can't believe Hearts is in last place.:yikes:I usually follow Hearts but keep up with Celtic also.

The Scottish Premier League is definitely diminished ever since Rangers fell on hard financial times. That's one of the better rivalries in the sport. Hopefully they'll be able to play their way back into the top flight next year. They absolutely steamrolled the third tier this season.

Agreed, but I mostly meant the end of the season. Tough way to go out. I hope this isn't the end of Gerrard's career.

I don't think he's going to retire quite yet, he's only 33. I do think there's a good chance this was the last decent shot he'll have at winning the league though.

I can see that, but I'm optimistic with the way Suarez and Sturridge played this season. It was the back line that let them down and they look to be addressing that in the offseason.
