Tough loss for RSL. Borchers was out (maybe defensive MVP of the league), Olave wasn't 100%, and Galaxy got a questionable PK*. We put 2 off the woodwork. Galaxy 3-1.

*One thing I've noticed about soccer fans is they are very suspicious of conspiracies. I watched the game yesterday with a Dutch immigrant and he's convinced the MLS would do anything to get Galaxy in the finals. I wonder if there's a strong history of that in Euro soccer, or if Euros are just generally more distrustful.

Euro footy has a long history of corruption in one form or another plaguing nearly every aspect of the sport.

they took 25 shots and still drew 0-0. The goals will come. Or Tevez will score them in January :)

and what a surprise RVP plays, scores and Arsenal win. He comes off the bench and they draw a French team (Arsene's bread and butter)

Marseille>Swansea... and Arsenal beat West Brom 3-0 and we all know that Swansea will probably finish below WBA. I really don't see an argument here.

I'll be a fine with RVP single-handedly beating every team on the schedule, but if you watched the game his only goal was on a rebound. JFYI.

the PK was questionable but not to the point of conspiracy, imo.

ive been following Chivas Mexico this year and watching EPL on saturday mornings and i thought last nights game competed with those in overall interest and dramatics. no where near the flopping that goes on in mexican soccer. i was pretty impressed although im no expert of the sport.

Good game. Galaxy is going to be tough to beat with the form they've been in lately, especially at home.

I also don't have a team to follow. I like Brek Shea though, and he plays for Dallas right?

Houston has no chance. It'd be great if Houston won, but their best player is out, and they are a team that doesn't really belong anyways.

I enjoy the MLS but I haven't found a team to follow yet. I'm hoping Atlanta or Charlotte will get an expansion franchise and that team would gain my loyalty pretty quickly.

I'm surprised that hasn't already happened. It's my understanding that soccer is very popular in NC. Atlanta has been one of the proposed locations for expansion a few times, but I'm not sure it's going to happen.

And Liverpool beat West Brom last week 2-0 so I'm not really sure where you are going with this.

Where are some other expansion possibilities?

On March 12, 2011 MLS Commissioner Don Garber cited several markets that are involved in discussions with the league office about future expansion: San Diego, Arizona, Las Vegas, Detroit, San Antonio, South Florida and Atlanta. Garber said. “I believe we will be larger than 20 teams,” and “I can’t say when that will be. But I can’t imagine that when this league is fully expanded that we don’t have teams in the Southeast, that we don’t have another team in the Midwest, that we’re not even expanding to the southern part of California."

Excellent. I need somewhere like Atlanta or St. Louis to get a team. People around here pick one of those two teams to follow in baseball; could be the same thing for the MLS.

Montral is getting a franchise next season, putting the number of franchises at 19. I'd imagine they would want more, and Atlanta is by far the largest market with no MLS presence at this point, though I don't know how well it would do there. The popularity and success has definitely been largest on the west coast. I think there will be new franchises in SFO, San Diego, Phoenix, Atlanta, Charlotte, STL and Miami within the coming years.

It's like you're ****ing five. Just keep reading and one day you'll understand it.. Hopefully.

if the MLS brand continues to grow, will money always be a problem in attracting more high profile players away from European club leagues?

with ESPN getting the contract for the WC coverage, will there be a significant increase in them pushing the MLS?
