If you average just south of 13k's per 9 you can get away with that...ha...
It also helps when you're averaging .5 hits per inning and a WHIP of 1.13. I haven't seen much of him, but the numbers seem to indicate that his wildness is part of what makes him effective.

Electric stuff. Upper 90s fastball with life. Pretty good slider.

Similar to a right handed Venters really. Fastball has more tail than sink though. Venters slider a little better.

I would hate it for him that his career could be over due to injury...Not the way you want to go out.

I say keep him on the roster and let him pinch hit and win a game with a walkoff homer to right, while limping around the bases doing a fist pump.

Nice.

I've read where he said his recent resurgence would make him consider "a lengthy rehab" to play again, but I don't know. If there's one thing I've learned about being a Vols fan, it's not to jump all-in on the first report. I'll see where all the chips fall.

Got to make a deal now.

It was no less obvious that they needed to make a deal two weeks ago, and Wren came away with Ankiel and Farnsworth. A meaningful deal is not going to happen.

Time for Heyward to move into the 3 slot that, with luck, he won't relinquish until 2025 or so.

No impact deal is going to be made. No one worth anything is both available and able to make it to us via waivers.

Prado-Infante or Infante-Prado, in your opinion?

Up to me:

3B Prado
2B Infante
RF Heyward
C McCann
1B Glaus (needs to turn this semi-hot streak into another tear)
LF Hinkse/Diaz
SS Gonzalez
CF Ankiel/Melky

Would be wonderful if McLouth found half of himself sometime soon.

Infante-Prado is the way I'd play it in a computer game, because that gives Prado a chance to drive Infante in himself, but I've seen the leadoff spot do such funny things to people over the years that I'd probably just stick with what's worked and keep Prado up top. Although now that Infante is handled himself well in the leadoff spot for awhile, maybe I'd just leave him there. It doesn't really matter. I don't disagree with any part of your lineup.

The season really depends now on what Glaus does, IMO. If he doesn't start hitting the ball consistently again then the Braves are cooked.

If heyward hits 3rd, Glaus almost has to hit 4th to break up the lefthanded bats.

here's my changes.

I think Chone Figgins name will come up. Also possibly Aramis Ramirez

Glaus is going to have to hit a whole lot better than platoon worthy for us to have a chance. That's the main reason I slotted him by himself. I certainly see your point, though.

Agreed.

Only reason I have for Prado-Infante is pitcher laying down a sac bunt with one out. Two outs, I'd rather have Prado try to drive him in than Infante.

Yes he will. I think giving him some rest might help. I'd like for him to be at full strength down the stretch

Good Luck Chipper, we was starting to come around after his slow start.

Do you think we move Glaus back to third and have Hinske play 1st?

The way Glaus has been moving around, I can't imagine that he could handle 3b.

The simplest move is probably playing Prado at 3b and bat him 3rd.

Prado's a good 3B. He'll move over there and Infante will play everyday at 2B. So this injury costs the Braves A) the difference between Chipper's bat and Infante's bat, which is considerable, and B) the extra flexibility that having a guy like Infante on the bench gave Cox, which is pretty important too. But it isn't necessarily fatal -- if Glaus drives in runs. Every bit of wiggle room the Braves had about that is gone.

Chipper needs to sit down and have a long chat with Tom Glavine before he decides whether to rehab the injury and come back.
From a business standpoint, there's a good case to be made from both the Braves and Chipper's perspective that it would be best if he didn't try to come back. I think they might be able to get the contract paid off by insurance.
