Glaus will either go DL or come off the bench. No chance in hell he plays 3rd.

how serious can a bulging disk be?

I have a bulging L5 disk and I spend half of my day outside working my arse off. It hurts sometimes but not enough to keep me out of work...and im not getting paid millions. I go to the chiropractor once every two weeks and deal with it...thats a lot better than back surgery.

Apparently Lee had an epidural for the bulging disk and can't play until Thursday when the Braves will coincidentally be in Chicago anyway. The theory I just heard is that they will wait another day to make a deal to be sure he responds to treatment and also keep the Braves from having to play a couple of days shorthanded.

I like it.

So what are they platooning him for just this series? Bring back Glaus tomorrow against lefty Lannan?

Just saw it confirmed that Lee has in fact cleared waivers without another team making a claim, so any deal the Braves and Cubs may be working on can't be blocked.

Hopefully the Cubs will take a player like Jordan Schaefer. A deal involving Nate McClouth would be very Cub-like.

Exciting move for the Bravos. Frank Wren not afraid to make deal.

Glaus contract: He got $1.75 mill salary, and since then he’s gotten bonuses of $250,000 for being on the active 25-man roster for 100 days, and got $350,000 each for 400 and 450 plate appearances. He currently has 466 plate appearances, would get $350,000 more for 500 plate appearances, $400,000 for 550 and $550,000 for 600.

per DOB.

Doubt Troy will see that 550th AB.

He could not have worse range than Chipper, probably about the same.
It would give Bobby a right handed power hitter to play with. Lee would be a free agent next season.

I personally do not think it provides you much of an upgrade.

The infield might be: 1B: Lee 2B: Prado 3B: Glaus SS: Gonzalez. That would leave Infante as the odd man coming off the bench.

I would not do it. But oh well.

...seriously? I think Glaus plays 10 years older than Chipper.

Mark Bowman is saying a deal is imminent and Dave O'Brien is saying Cox got a call in his office a few minutes ago . . . whatever that means.

I wish I had never found Twitter.
