The cancel culture is getting out of control

I think it does have a little to do with this thread in that Saint Trump is also a proponent of "cancel culture" when it suits his purposes.
Exactly! It just isn't political correctness which Donald Trump proposes. Trump is absolutely in favor of using the power of his office to silence anyone who dares to disagree with him (The Washington Post), report unfavorable information about him (CNN), be critical of him (John Bolton and James Mattis), or ridicule him (Saturday Night Live). In every case, Trump has tried to bully them and suppress them from speaking out. He has sought vindication against The Washington Post by way of Amazon and Jeff Bezos... He has sent a cease and desist letter to CNN... He has sued to keep Bolton's book from being published... and he has (absurdly!) threatened to sue SNL for slander. Trump is the quintessential advocate for the "cancel culture". Any time anyone or anything hurts Trump's feelings, his initial response is to have them silenced or shut down. Donald Trump is irrationally impulsive, insecure and hyper-sensitive to criticism.

What do you think about Trump threatening Twitter and indirectly most social media platforms?

Did he actually sign an EO to have the DOJ review CDA Sec 230 or is he still at the threatening stage?

Sixteen films including Aliens, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Flash Gordon, The Jungle Book, and Lawrence of Arabia have been given trigger warnings for their “outdated attitudes” by Comcast-owned Sky in the UK as a Black Lives Matter inspired Cultural Revolution sweeps the country.

Viewers of the films on Sky Cinema — a pay-per-view film service — were greeted with a message that informed them that the films may contain “outdated attitudes, languages and cultural depictions which may cause offence today.”

Love me some Audrey for sure.
Kipling's role as a spokesman for British imperialism has provoked controversy for a long time.
Wizard of Oz might be next because of the symbology of the winged monkeys as Plains Indians. ???

I think he is too stupid to understand that as the President of the United States he is threatening to violate their 1st Amendment rights. They have every right to dictate their terms of service and enforce those terms as they see fit. Those are private companies. Trump is also too self-absorbed to realize what a hypocrite he looks like while suing to block the publication of Bolton's book, sending cease and desist letters to CNN.... AND also whining about Twitter adding addendums to his dumb tweets. Trump only cares about the 1st Amendment as it can be used to help him... and only him.

Not difficult to scan and see Trump's name several times. Not sure what Trump has to do with the stupid ass cancel culture crap.
Donald Trump has EVERYTHING to do with "the stupid ass cancel culture crap". The only difference is that Donald Trump isn't working for the cause of political correctness. Donald Trump is working for the cause of himself.. but make no mistake, Trump wants anything that disagrees with him, ridicules him or criticizes him to be canceled. At the heart of the cancel culture, is a complete intolerance for opposing viewpoints and opinions. That is also what is at the heart of Donald Trump, as President.

Trump has squat to do with "cancel culture", yet you keep going on and on. This is movement of the left.
If anything in your statement about Twitter, it is them that is part of this "cancel culture", not Trump.

I know a lot of people love Hepburn, but the only movie I liked her in was THE UNFORGIVEN with Burt Lancaster. This movie could be on the American Taliban list for banishment because of some of the language used.

Trump has EVERYTHING to do with cancel culture. EVERYTHING. Trump just isn't advocating for political correctness, but he definitely is trying to bully anyone who disagrees with him, criticizes him or ridicules him into silence. Trump files law suits, makes idle threats and throws around childish insults at anyone who dares to give voice to opposing viewpoints. The cancel culture revolves around an intolerance for those whose views are different... Donald Trump is filled with intolerance for such people who are different than him.

You do realize when the PC crap and cancel culture started right ?

Interesting (sad) the leftist on here praise this cancel culture and the groups that comprise it. The Taliban should follow this new brand of Bolsheviks around and take some notes. No better than the KKK, Neo-Nazis, etc. Just the side of the same coin.

You just accused us of not having our own minds. I admire your passion, but that's wrong.

During the filming of the gritty western, THE UNFORGIVEN, Hepburn fell off her horse and was seriously injured. Filming was delayed for several months while she healed up.
I think I read that somewhere about her falling off her horse. That's a good flick. I like John Houston. The Man Who Would Be King is a good one of his. I have that one somewhere on VHS.

Probably with women's liberation... and the civil rights movement. What we called things became more important than it had previously been. In her book from 1970, Black Woman, author Toni Cade wrote "a man cannot be politically correct and a chauvinist too,". It may even predate that.... what's your point?
