The cancel culture is getting out of control

New England ice cream brand quietly drops name after cancel culture takes aim

“Jimmies” are what some New Englanders call the ice cream topping most Americans call “sprinkles.” The history of the term “jimmies” isn’t clear – several companies have claimed to have invented it and the topping – but some people now say that it’s a derogatory term related to Jim Crow, the racist caricature that came to stand for discriminatory laws and segregation put into place following the Civil War.

only in a very few instances

in this particular case there is nothing wrong with the book - it's maybe the equivalent of a Michael Moore movie or An Inconvenient Truth

Andy Ngo isn't even as controversial as Michael Moore. He is literally a journalist that got beat up by Antifa gangs. God forbid he writes about it.

Insane - liking a book is something to apologize for?

I always despised whatever they considered pseudo modern American literature by people like Steinbeck, even at school age I was put off by the "poor disadvantaged" crap and refused to read it. I passed on Catcher in the Rye stuff, too. There were way too many adventure based classics to waste time on liberal arts. I also tend to hate books and music when it's obviously all about the "artist's" style over the message and music.
