There are 2000 posts in this thread. Lets count the number of examples of right wing book burning and compare it to the examples of left wing book burning.
You mean the book with nude photos in it? Yeah, doesn't sound like something a school district should have.
edt: The book is illustrated so it's a drawing. It's all in the context of the story. There are also objections to coarse language but given the average youth's vocabulary today that shouldn't be an issue. It's pretty narrow minded to ban this one.You mean the book with nude photos in it? Yeah, doesn't sound like something a school district should have.
That is a good question. Ideally school boards can be the arbiter and answer to the community. But it's problematic if the community or the loud mouths in the community are very reactionary or very woke. In my view middle schoolers would benefit from reading such a book about the holocaust.Of course. Is that up to the school or the parent?

The human body is disgusting. Despite everyone having two (or more) nipples, seeing someone else's in a book would be overly sexual. Throw those nipples on a starving, terrified POW and it'd be pure lust inducing for the reader of the book.
I understand your feeling about school boards. A lot of them are worse than useless with their politics. But if not them, who?Yet there’s informative books about the Holocaust without these issues and I disagree about school boards being the appropriate people to make such decisions. There’s few positions in society I have less respect for
