Tennessee hasn't made anything clear. We've taken a pragmatic, albeit somewhat naive, approach to the process.I can see that happening, but I can see him staying happening as well. Hubbs said this today on it.
"Tennessee is preparation for the basketball team to be placed on probation and more penalties coming. Now that could me more suspension for Pearl, post season play suspension, recruiting restrictions, loss of scholarship.
Some in the Pearl camp because the he will not be further suspended and that any punishment will be made to the program and not Pearl individually because Tennessee has made it clear that Pearl is their coach.
I tend to believe that Pearl's going to miss some more games and a post-season ban is really possible."

A good play option would have been a lob to the rim, but Tennessee's lack of size would prevent that from even happening. That's why I say use Lofton as a decoy and let Watson get into the lane and make a play.
Don't you think it is interesting that Pearl refuses to sign the contract UT offered? Wonder why? Could be that he can be fired with no compensation depending on the NCAA outcome.
That would be a good point if Pearl weren't one of the highest paid coaches in the country. As it is, it's just dumb.
Exactly why would UT feel the need to pay a new basketball coach less than what they were paying Pearl before he was exposed as the lying fraud he is? Also, there's a pretty good case to be made that every guy you listed is a better coach than Pearl. Miller and Wright aren't even really up for debate. With the reported $500,000/year cut in his pay because of the violations he barely makes the top 20. That is with a proven record. Take away the schools that are in crappy leagues and you really only have about 50-60 schools that would rate as desirable jobs. He is barely in the top 1/3. Therefore I don't consider him one of the top paid coaches in the country. So sorry my comments failed to make your intelligent level "O Great One!"
He is behind some of the greats:
Anthony Grant- Alabama
Sean Miller- Arizona
Tony Bennett- Virginia
Tom Crean- Indiana
Jay Wright- Villanova
