Pretty good comp, but Dale's recruiting was better. Couldn't coach a lick, but could sell hoops and recruit like a wild man.

Agree, did everyone in Chapel Hill call for Roy Williams firing after missing the tournament the year after winning the whole thing? To call for Pearl's firing based on the on court performance is premature at best. Calling for his job due to the NCAA issues is a whole different argument.

According to Hamilton, the contract is ready for Pearl to sign and it is Pearl who doesn't want to sign the contract, as offered. UT is obviously in control, but Pearl has a contract offer.

Good post. Pearl has lead his teams to 5 straight NCAA bids going to elite 8 and losing a heartbreaker. UT is excited about basketball again and he briefly had #1 ranking. Yea, he screwed up big time. It was very foolish of him and his staff to lie about some small infractions. They don't come snooping around unless they have something concrete. What will the be the ultimate outcome I have no idea but, I for one will be sad if he is forced to leave. If, any of you on this board never lied cast the first stone. I also realize there are consequences for what we do, but that will never make me glad that he was fired if it comes to that.

I don't think there are many UT fans who are happy with the current circumstances. However, we also can't act as if Pearl is just a victim. He created this situation by breaking NCAA rules and then lying about it. Regardless of how much good he did for the program, he is now doing great damage to the program. I, along with many others, would be sad to see him have to leave, but I believe the program has to be more important than Pearl or any other coach. We can't let the program go down the tubes to keep Pearl.

This is a pure canard. That's why its hard to take you seriously. You come up with off the wall
figures and state them as fact when you have not the slightest clue to their accuracy. Tom Izzo has been to six (6 count them ) final fours with his team. In the entire history of Michigan State they have only been to
eight (8 count them ) final fours. Since you have told a
blatant prevarication ( Lie ). I think it speaks volumes for your verasity in getting your point accross.

It simply was to get across the point that Izzo is vastly, vastly more accomplished than Pearl. And I think it accomplished that. Nice work though; keep working and you'll figure out to spell "veracity" and "across."

That's the question I would like to know. He's got to know admitting it results in next to nothing compared to what is happening now. The only thing that makes sense is that he panicked and made a stupid decision.

Great point. The fact that Izzo only has 6 more Final Fours than Pearl really closes the gap.
