This time Tennessee fans will have Mike Slive to thank for his unprecedented preemptive disiplinary action meted out to Pearl before the SEC season. Just as he was able to broker Cam Newton and Auburn to the BCS title game, Slive appears to have saved his friend's job.:ermm:

I hate everything Dooley does? What? When he was hired, I remember saying it was a questionable hire (which it no doubt was) but in no way do I "hate" Dooley. In fact, I have become optimistic about our the near future of our football program.

Its the truth...all of the negavols are getting there shots in while Bruce is down....but wait till next year and in the future when where winning 20 plus games a year..all of u negavols will be loving Pearl with the rest of us....its just how it works

I went a little overboard there but like I said I'm just tired of seeing the same things written. I can certainly understand why a lot of people would want Pearl gone. it's completely reasonable. But just the way the some people on this board are saying it annoys the crap out of me. It's like they have no respect for what Pearl had done in his 5 years previous to this and are just tossing him aside like garbage and saying he is "Easy to replace". Sure we probably can get a coach as good or better than Pearl, but saying he's easily replaceable is just something I don't believe. /rant

And I understand. If you are 30 years old, all you know about UT basketball is that it sucks. And people are scared of that. I respect that.

But I am also annoyed how people have crucified Cal over and over and over again, and yet when Pearl does something wrong, and has screwed up multiple times, it's okay because "HE WINS GAMES." I get tired of people saying "Bruce IS UT BASKETBALL" and that "WE"LL NEVER FIND ANOTHER COACH THAT IS GOOD!!!!!"

I don't believe it'll be easy to replace him, but I think it can't be done. I think Bruce is a little overrated as a coach anyways. But to each his own. He's accomplished a lot.

I find that annoying too. People think I'm an unconditional Pearl supporter, but I'm really not. I just greatly respect him for what he has done in the last five years.

As far as Bruce being overrated, aside from Vol fans, who rates him as an elite coach? Nobody. I think the national media rates him as a solid coach who is a still well below the Ks and Izzos of the game, which I would agree with.

We are The University of Tennessee..We may be goin through some tough times as of later but Ive got faith we will soon be back were we belong as a University....Lets just try to Support the coaches we have now...we can not control what happens....It is what it is guys...GO Vols:crossfingers:

I understand....But as fans we cant do nothing but support whoever is in charge....Putting down our own coaches does nothing good for our teams....
