This is totally the opposite of my experience, and I've been following UT basketball since the 70s. Most of the fans I've talked to who are desperate to keep Pearl at any cost are the ones who just jumped on the bandwagon a few years ago. Long-term fans know that there's not that much difference between what Pearl has done at UT and what Jerry Green and Don DeVoe did; they know Pearl's not the only one who can win here.
You really think Hamilton had his hand in lying to the AA or called the recruits' families to "remind them" that what went down? None of that is acceptable or excusable and Hamilton had nothing to do with it.They are leaving alot out in the release of the LOA to the public for some reason but only time will tell...

Even with the NCAA problems Coach Pearl has had more production with the level of talent and accomplished more than UT Basketball has ever dreamed of without legitimately cheating and paying for play.. I hope he gets thru this and is Here for yrs to come and makes every Pearl hater eat there words..
Jerry Green and Devoes attitudes irritated me to know end. DeVoe MUST GO!! would have been on my car if I wasnt just a kid at the time. lol. Seriously though I have been really upset with DeVoe being outspoken saying Pearl should go. He is mad for 2 reasons Tennessee firing him and Pearl not playing his walkon son Elliott. I know people can win here at a pretty high level. But to put the Buzz Peterson or Wade houston likeableness with some ability to coach was what Bruce Pearl brought to the table. Make no mistake I will support no matter who is on our sidelines but losing Bruce will sting my heart. As for Hamilton who cares.

So that exonerates the basketball coaches? Sensible. He is held accountable for wat happens in the athletic dept.. Saying this happened in two sports and two diff coaches he is held accountable for not properly monitoring what's goin on within the coaches actions.. Its a lack of institutional control.. he was already under the gun for the Lane Kiffin problems.. He knew heat from bball could be a dagger if it came out..

I don't understand - Pearl does the crime and you think Hamilton should pay for it? He's the one that hired and has stood by the one your heart would sting over if he left! Huh? A vote for Pearl is a vote for Hamilton. They are inseparable at this point.

Didn't Bob Knight get in trouble but still coached.. didn unc keep Butch Davis after Ncaa problems and didn Steve Spurrier let his players stay in hotels etc for free knowing it was goin on but he still coaching.. This happens in college sports every yr.. I jus hope they hold Kiffin respnsible for his actions seeing he did the same thing at USC in his first tenure.. he is a repeat offender..

So fire the guy who "didn't monitor" for violations, but don't fire the guy that actually committed the violations? This fan base cracks me up.Keep Pearl fire Hamilton....... I think he knew more about what was goin on with all the violations while they were bein comitted than is bein made public.. There has been no institutional control from the day he was hired as AD..
