The disney insanity continues

It’s hilarious watching liberals advocating in favor of tax preferences for a huge, multi-national corporation.

It really isn't about the taxes. It's about a deal the state made to bring a company here that has more than paid off and now the state is pulling that deal to punish the corporation because it spoke out against a bill advocated by the governor. It's BS. The government should not be in the business of punishing political allies. That is third world banana republic bs and the only reason you're in favor of it is because its your tribe doing the punishing.

It might could still be a swamp. But that’s not the discussion. It’s about their tax arrangement going forward. 55 years ago Disney management wasn’t pushing a sexually woke agenda at children.

That definitely is the discussion. Disney built a successful business using the breaks they were given and everyone thinks that something else would have filled the void if those breaks never existed. That is false and short sided thinking. Do I really care about Disney's tax arrangement in FL, nope. Disney will find a way to survive and I am sure prosper from this. Nice to know you believe companies should only benefit when their beliefs match yours.

The Libertarians are a tribe?

I’m sure that you spoke out against Obama weaponizing the DOJ to punish a certain political group, amirite?

It is not about taxes, Disney will pay and move forward. It is about the clearly vindictive and most likely short-sighted actions of state government that is stupid to me.

Do I think it is funny that conservatives are cheering on a vindictive action by a state government when a company spoke out against something they did? Yes, I find that very amusing. Remember that when they decide to come after you for something you believe/think.

Per ClearwaterVol companies should not be treated as people. They don't have beliefs. However they should have a mission statement, goals and objectives.

For the record, I don't think that corporations should be treated like people. But if the precedent is set, it would seem that legally speaking - what's good for the goose is good for the gander.
David French will trigger some of the mouth breathers, but this answers your question starting around 45 minutes.

I don’t think it’s as clear cut as they say. French was a practicing first amendment attorney before he started writing punditry, but I think the facts and political questions in this case make it a bit murkier than some mayor unilaterally ending a government contract.

Like Obama’s DOJ?

That last sentence is a lie.

Draining the swamp is a sunk cost. My point is that when the tax paid by Disney for that 40 square miles is cited, it needs to be in the proper context. If they leave the tax revenue certainly isn’t going to zero.

I have no idea the estimated value of 40 square miles of homes in central Fla.

I do know that if you go to the orange county tax collector's website and search Disney under the bill payment section 27 pages of bills come up.

If someone can tell me it makes good economic sense and is good for the taxpayers I'm all for it. So far the sponsors of the bill have not provided any studies on the impact to he region and have basically said "we'll figure it out."

Reminds me a lot of Pelosi saying they needed to pass the bill first then see what's in it.

Am I discussing his DOJ? Two wrongs make a right now? Tit for tat? Petty.

Okay. Dems can go go first. Nancy needs to not be celebrated for tearing up symbolic documents in front of the world. Maxine’s mic needs to be turned off. Hillary and BHO need to STFU and go away. AOC, the rest of the Squad, and Bernie need to take seats at the small table at the Dem’s party.

Silence the opposition. Heil Good Oil!

You didn't say Disney should have never had the special tax breaks. You implied the breaks were fine when you said, "55 years ago Disney management wasn’t pushing a sexually woke agenda at children."

I stated that Disney was different 55 years ago. Companies weren’t blatantly pushing political agendas then. Your interpretations continue to miss the target. Implied? Were fine? I believe?

I am going to assume you haven't read the law. I am basing that on the lack of substance in any of your posts.

Let's be honest here. You don't like the bill because it's being supported by Christians, conservatives, republicans, and Desantis. You are totally OK with sacrificing children because of your disdain for those groups. You liberals are sick minded.

Threatening to take away their cozy tax arrangement is a way to put their push to sexually indoctrinate 5 year olds is what’s being highlighted.
I hope blue font was implied........because NO ONE can actually believe what you just said.

Plus I was talking about the complete stupidity of the new FL law in the first place.

All tax policy is political...the root of the word. Are you not for taxing people and entities differently based on demographics?
