The disney insanity continues

I figured taxpayers taking on an additional $1.2B would be enough for fiscal conservatives like myself to oppose this legislation.

Guess I was wrong.
You do realize that you're on a Tennessee web site and most Tennesseans don't live in Florida, so if you have to pay a bunch more in taxes, we don't care?

Nobody cares what you can’t stand.

You don’t know what the parental rights bill says, you don’t know what Disney said, you don’t seem to know anything relevant about Florida, or taxes, or the first amendment. You’re clueless as to every subject that’s material to this subject.

And your vacuous commentary gives no indication that the juice of your opinion would be worth the tremendous squeeze of bringing you, kicking and screaming, up to speed on the wide range of subjects about which you’re absolutely clueless.
So here we go, you're back to your pedophilia comments again.

I promise, I'm really not trying to argue for the sake of arguing here. How can it be punitive when the net result is that Disney gets taxed like everyone else?
I was typing a reply asking them same but yours is more succinct. At the end of this Disney is being treated like any other business in Florida. Do they have a right to their special self governing status? Or under what scenarios can it be revoked?

So this move won’t cost him Florida and he can gain votes nationally with the crowd that hates the leftward movement of large corps, the crowd that hates large corps just because, and religious conservatives.

On the Disney side, are they even mad? I’m being led to believe on here this is at worst moot issue financially. Still not sure I believe that, but perhaps it is so.

Because it’s selectively applied and targeted at a particular special district for political reasons.

As a result, local taxpayers could be saddled with an additional $1.2B tax bill.

I've expressed my views. Both sides lie to gain power. I just thought it ironic that liberals are now upset that a corporation might have to pay more in taxes.

Liberals and conservatives alike affected by this legislation are upset about a potential spike in their property taxes.

How do you know that? As far as I can tell Disney paid $100M last year. Their taxes will rise significantly to offset. It is a zero sum game.

They paid 780M last year in taxes, per Reuters.

Nobody seems to know that this is a zero sum game. The Orange and Osceola tax collectors seem like the best sources to actually know that and they have said it will significantly increase the burden on residents.

No they won't. Everyone's taxes will rise to make up what Disney was paying. The county can't assess a special tax on Disney to make up for what Disney currently pays for it's own infrastructure.
