The disney insanity continues

And I am sure that will expire in the future.

Do you want corps to pay more taxes or not? Simple question.

Simpleton question more like it.

Disney is already paying taxes. I didn't read where they were going to pay more from this. Sure they will lose the ability to run their own town, but didn't see where they would pay "more". If anything, people have actually said local residents will pay more so there is that. I think Disney should pay what they should according to the overall tax laws.

I also feel they should be able to run their business as they have been for the last 55 years. If you want to yank their special status, it should be yanked years in the future, not 1 year which gives them and the surrounding areas little time to plan and creates chaos which is good for no one except the governor who can beat his chest about this.

Are there companies that wanted this deal to move to Blount County and were told no ?

I am sure every company would like this deal and I am sure plenty don't get it. What I am not sure about is the point of your question as it relates to his comment about Disney getting breaks to relate as being bad, but I didn't see him agreeing that the S&W one was bad.

Yeah and it goes to court if it happens. Advocating govt penalties for exercising free speech is a new stance on here.

I don't remember typing anything advocating such. I simply stated Disney stepped on their own d**k by making this a public battle due to appease a small, vocal group of their employees. Dumb on Disney's part imo. In the real world, dumb decisions have consequences.

Then can we expect Disney with this massive windfall to lower pricing to the consumer?

Geez you like to just keep jumping to new topics. Worse than a greased pig catching contest.

Do massive windfalls to companies ever get passed to consumers? I have no stats on that but I suspect it rarely happens. Not sure how Disney's board will handle the situation.

Except when those consequences are illegal

Of course Disney may just let it go since the legislature appears to have Elmer Fudd'd themselves

I shall remind you of that last sentence one day soon when it comes to DeSantis and this pandering move by him.

I am not a lawyer, don't even pretend to be one on VN like some, but I can't see how going through the proper legislative process to remove Disney's special status is illegal.

Well..you keep saying Disney pays for all this stuff out of all their altruism. If they dont have to pay for the infrastructure anymore, in which the citizens of FLA have to now pay, what will Disney do?

This is not difficult and right on the topic of discussion in which you participate.

It's not real. There is no logic to it. DeSantis has set them up as a culture wars enemy so he can be anti-woke and get on Fox to ratchet up his numbers in the primaries.

It's all for show, not some public policy issue that needs to be addressed and the sooner people accept what it really is the sooner we can ask the relevant questions. Why pick Disney and will it backfire.

Really what this is all about in the first place and being lost in the discussion. I posted the 7 page bill and nowhere does it say "Dont say Gay"..it is a lie.
But is does prevent teachers from speaking about "issues" with children as young as 3 YO..which in itself is laughable if not so bizarre and sad of the times we are in.
It's sick liberal indoctrination.

Well the S&w one isn’t bad or special if other companies can get the deal also.

And Disney isn’t being discriminated against unless others have this deal also and it is only being removed from Disney.

BS..You guys are cultural warriors for decades now. Push push..so expect pushback. And although I dont necessarily agree with many responses as they seem counter ideological, just as you guys are in here protecting big corps and their taxes of all things.

Stop pushing your ******** that we got along fine without for 200 years, and maybe things simmer down.

Quote me where I claimed I said they did it for altruistic reasons. Keep squirming. I said they are a business operating under an agreed upon environment which is being upended out of vindictiveness. I never claimed they were saints or anything like that.

Just because it's legislation doesn't make it proper

It is deductive reasoning.

You said..

Disney pays for all the infrastructure now...True
Disney will now not pay for the infrastructure and the citizens will now pay..so Disney now has more income. Correct?

So...Disney will have more disposable income now. So you think Disney passed along these savings to consumers or not?

Don't change your argument now. You said it was illegal and now you are saying it is improper. Which is it?
I believe govt targeting of citizens for speech is illegal. I read that somewhere

Legislation validates nothing
