The disney insanity continues

Uhhhhhh
Big difference between excepting someone for who they want to be in a free society and pushing an agenda.
There are a lot of gay republicans and none of them are woke.
I know that may be a surprise to a hack like yourself but not everyone thinks the way you think they should

Murphy proved it with his meme.
Again not sure anyone read the freking bill which Disney hangs their wokewism on. sheep.

The DOW was down on Friday by 2.8%, everybody got creamed. Disney owned Netflix weighed the stock down. last week after 35% decrease in stock price.

Buy the dip, the mouse will be back.

Of course they will. They just got a $120M/year windfall. Lmao

I think the housing market will tank slow. Low supply will keep it afloat if people have cash. Then the interest rates and prices will create some "hell naws". The American dream of home ownership will continue to fade to large condo/apartment complexes combined with investment company greed.
I know all around me, apartment builds outpace houses by a 5 or 6 to one margin. How many people can afford a house selling for $400k just for an entry level home? The new Biden economy.

I am aware of that.

The issue of whether it is punishing Disney’s speech is the one on which I have said courts would be more skeptical. Not because there isn’t a lot of evidence, there is.

The governor has made public statements linking the bill to Disney’s speech.

“I’m just not comfortable having that type of agenda get special treatment in my state,” Mr. DeSantis said on Friday, denouncing how Disney had responded to the legislation.

The record of the Florida senate deliberations contain more:

Then there are various public statements by the senators:

I’m sure there are others.

In my opinion, there’s a question of whether Courts will consider that as the better evidence of legislative intent. I believe that depends on the philosophy of the judges who review the case.

So does this constitutional standard apply outside of Florida? Could the Biden administration's numerous comments about the fossil fuel industry including wanting to "bankrupt" them be used to overturn the shutdown of Keystone pipeline and other anti-oil measures enacted since he was sworn in?

Does it matter that the bill doesn't require DeSantis' signature to become law? Like the federal government and most states, after a bill is passed by the FL legislative branch the governor can veto, sign or do nothing at which the bill becomes law after a set time.

Based on your posting of comments from legislators, does this speech limit also apply to them? Is it just public comments that are of concern or is debate on the floor during sessions also monitored?

I'd agree with you, but big corporations have seemed to have started a war with the conservatives in the majority land mass of the country.

Seems? Not agreeing or having a different opinion isn't starting a "war."

There's really no "but", either you're OK with the government attacking businesses or your not.

Think carefully about that, it may seem fun and OK when your flavor is in office. Just remember your apathy when the shoe is on the other foot.

And it will be on the other foot.

Yeah. I’ve never been, but I know people who live there and who have gone on vacation. Apparently, there’s a ton of amazing food and wine and they’ve got a lot of outdoor activities like hiking up mountains, to waterfalls, and rivers. I think it’s kind of like San Diego with hiking instead of the zoo or the Padres.
Lots to do indeed, riot nightly, set fires in the street, beat up “fascists”, do drugs in the homeless camps. Veritable vacation paradise

Conservatives have been under attack by the democrats and liberal media since the divider in chief came into office in 2008. The liberals started a war, and it's just about boiled to a head.

And I'm sure that democrats would argue they are under attack. All you're doing is confirming that what you see depends on where you sit.

Sorry, hyperbole using terms like 'war' and 'attack' aren't convincing, but they are amusing.

Meh, it's it'll be less about woke politics and more about the same gray haired sh*theads doing nothing. The pendulum is always swinging - trying to foist a single issue as being the "final straw" is myopic. Every election cycle has its hot button issue to distract us all from the gray hairs pulling the strings.

Consider not getting distracted by wedge issues like CRT or wokeness and instead focus on things that actually have and effect on you like the economy, taxes and unemployment.

So what are your issues? I know I'm fed up with inflation, gas prices, food costs, lack of border enforcement and crappy schools like letting the unions dictate policy. Pretty much everything the democrats have done has been a total and complete disaster.

Am I "gone learn today?"

Are you and your kin gonna 'cancel' Disney?

Go for it. Invest your chips. You got a big chest.

No I'm not going try to "cancel Disney". I think people have a right to spend their money where they want to. Corporations don't get rich on liberals alone. Libs generally run businesses into the ground where the customer base is unreliable.

Is Disney a "lib business?"

is it?

It's just a business but once you start down this path you start isolating consumers for no reason.

For no reason?

How insulated from reality are you?

Disney didn't want to weigh in, their employees were walking off the job. perhaps you haven't noticed but labor is tough to come by.

Jesus, they were criticized by their employees for not speaking out sooner. Disney had no choice but to weigh in and it was the last thing management probably wanted to do.

But don't let that perspective get in the way of the OAN narrative that "DiSNeY iZ Gro0merz"

If this is the most important thing in Disney's employees lives then Disney need new employees.
There are thousands of companies in these states and a group of pansies supposed to run things.

You are soft.

You are aware that this bill is not only affecting Disney? It eliminates ALL independent special districts enacted before the 1968 Florida Constitution. Six districts including Disney’s and several within the Villages of Florida are set to be dissolved.

So how is this bill targeting Disney because of a political stance or speech issue when it eliminates multiple districts established before a set date?

If eliminating special districts is the goal, and not political retribution for Disney, there should be no need to place a “before 1968” qualifier on the bill.

The “before 1968” qualifier is to exempt residents of The Villages from the same potential spike in property taxes that Orange County and Osceola County residents could be burdened with.

Residents in The Villages historically vote red, so DeSantis needs their support.
