Why bother when a guy touting regular season wins over Martin and improvements over Buzz is the argument. Forget that our team plays no defense, is softer than Charmin, had no PG, will not attack the hole, has never seen a rebound, cherry picks like Sebastian Telfair on the playground, mopes after misses, sets picks like a matador (to match the D), and cuts like a 40 year old butter knife and has done the exact same for 4 freaking years. None of that matters, as we'll win 20 regular season games and get beaten in the first round by a team of midgets giggling as we hoist 3s. Can't wait for more.

Its actually 24 wins a year and we have been in the hunt for the SEC title each of those years. Your dreaming if you think any school can dominate each year. The Adolph Rupp days are over. Also, we have been to the sweet 16 twice under pearl so it isnt like we are losing in the first round each year. He has been to four tournaments and made the sweet 16 twice.

All your trash arguments about winning in a very weak SEC and regular season wins is just crap. We have eight wins now, Noe of which are worth mentioning. Get over that silliness. Postseason wins are basketball.

Don't bother coming back at me with your trash about lefthanded beatdowns and such. You'll be wrong about that too.

Seriously? Your facts are regular season wins, a SEC reg season crown in the worst conference the SEC has had in years, and some mythical division titles? That sounds awesome. Give a raise and pretend Memphis was drooling.

You had to have loved Jerry Green also. 4 straight NCAA appearances from the 97-98 season to the 00-01 season, with trips to the Sweet 16. He was as great of a coach as Bruce, no? He also won 2 SEC East titles. I'll hang up and listen.

Only three active NCAA coaches (with three or more years of coaching) have a better record than Pearl (Williams, Few, and Dixon). Other than Dixon, I dont see any of those coaches coming here. He also owns both Calapari and Donovan in head to head matchups without the star talent level that both those coaches had at the time. He has also recorded more sec wins within the sec the past four years than any other coach or school in the sec.

So when you say I am afraid....its not that I am afraid its that I am not going to jump on a bandwagon being driven by emotional crap that has no legitimate backing. History has shown that if Pearl can continue to win the East and to compete for the SEC every year then we will eventually break into the final four. We have great TV exposure right now which has transpired into a lot of great recruits having UT on their short list.

It simply comes down to this my arguments are based on articulated facts. Your argument is based on emotion that has no factual backing (or coherency). All I can translate from your argument is your crying how you want a Duke or UNC caliber program that has a legitimate shot at the final four every year and you want it right now. Well so do I.....so does everyone. However, you dont go fire a guy that is consistently winning 24 games a year on average while playing the one of the hardest schedules in bball, competing for conference titles consistently, and getting you in the NCAA tournament(oh and winning games in the tournament). Quit your whinning and quit talking about how we need to get rid of Pearl. Its really an embarassment for you to continue.

awesome how you addressed not one of my points.

i've never said. "fire pearl now." i AM saying... he can't take us to elite level... based on what i'm seeing on the court and what i'm hearing and reading the coach say about what's happening on the court.

re-read my previous post... i've addressed these "wins and accomplishments" argument. let's see how the wins and accomplishments stack up this year with "my most talented team ever." so far... not so good without lofton, jujuan and dane.

once again, please try to address my arguments.

Lousville got embarrassed by both WESTERN CAROLINA & UNC-CHARLOTTE. Let's fire Rick Pittino!! Florida got smoked by Syracuse, and lost to RICHMOND. Let's fire Billy Donovan!! I could go on... but what's the point. You just don't bring negativity to a program after each loss. Especially a program that is still getting accustomed to annually high expectations, and a Top 10 recruiting class on it's way. Wanna talk about what UT needs to improve? Fine. Wanna talk about firing our coach. No way. :nono:

Hmm, I wonder what trophy all these coaches have that Bruce Pearl doesn't? Oh, and losing to Kentucky, Texas and Syracuse is a far cry from losing to Southern Cal by 22.

I'm glad to see someone put this post to a rest. There may be some coaches out there but you'll never get them to come to Vol land. One of those coaches is at UNC. He's coached at Kansas and now at UNC. He'll NEVER leave UNC!:eek:k:

Now are we getting to be like the football team. Top 10's or nothing? In my opinion Bruce gas done a very good job. We had 30 wins one season. When was the last time a UT mens' basketball team won 30 and beat the runner-up in the NCAA? We can't get the current coach at Florida to leave either. Has the AD said anything about replacing Bruce?
Billy Donovan has lost 3 straight including one to USF! Are they hollering to replace him? NO!
I agree with the previous post. Bruce has the Vols being competitive and playing top ranked teams every season. Just wait, he'll have our guys playing Duke, UNC, a Big East team, or OU. We've beaten Texas (in the past) and even some good Kentucky teams and even beat the Gators in the year when the won the National Championship in basketball.
