ANd you the loud mouth sitting in section V row 39 seat 27. He threw the ball away several times because our AWFUL recievers could not get open. And when a screen is called and the MLB covers the RB, a Qb can not throw it down feild without a flag being thrown.
The throws into coverage don't bother me nearly as much as the fumble that almost turned into a TD, the sack that he took that almost knocked us out of FG range and the 3rd down play that he busted when he went the wrong way. None of those plays show up on a stat sheet, but they will sure enough get you beat.
Well, if having the 91st ranked QB is your idea of a good QB, then your bar isn't set very high. I've looked at your "stats" and gone back and compiled the national ranking for the same schools that you feel are in the same company of our beloved JC. Beside each school is the QB's passing efficiency ranking at the end of Game 4.

Crompton 91
UGA 23
UF 7
UK 79
Ark 30
Bama 3
Auburn 6
LSU 43
Ole Miss 65
SC 78
Miami 24
VT 71
USF 12
PSU 54
Ok St 21
Mizzu 9
OSU 57
BYU 25
Aside from Vandy, every school we face the rest of the way has a QB light years ahead of JC in passing efficiency.
It's not like I'm bringing up old stuff... I wouldn't have "bashed" him the rest of the season had he just continued to play and not have a UCLAesk game... But noooooo he has to open his mouth and say this recent series a ridiculous statements.
Also, PJ I urged you watch that play again... (www.secdigitalnetwork.com) the ball was thrown out of bounds. What do you say about the 3rd down miss to Moore that I made mention to? Or what about the 3rd down throw into the stands on the 2nd to last play of the game. If you'll re watch that you see he had a blocker on the left and only one defender 25 yards down field... He could have easily ran for the 1st down and probably more. But he throws it into the stands on a 3rd and 12 (I think) with an upcoming 4th down for the game.... But I'm gonna guess he did the right thing right? And you might be right if it were 2nd in 10 in the 2nd QTR in a tie game, but it wasn't. Again he shows NO desire to win. See the last 4 plays of the ucla game too...

Crompton bleeds orange. He has devoted more of his life, heart, and energy to this program than most of us can even imagine. HE LOVES TENNESSEE. He had an opportunity to go elsewhere and many thought he should since UT had recruited Ainge and Schaeffer ahead of him... but he wanted to be a Vol. Many thought he should transfer when, like Stephens, an underachieving Ainge was given the nod over him. Even more people thought he should leave when it became a not so well kept secret that Cut despised him. He kept trying because he wanted to be a Vol.
Through all of this plus the vitriol of fans, boos in his home stadium, scathing criticism in the media, vandalism against his property, and even death threats... all Jonathan Crompton wanted was to be a Vol.
Anyone who doesn't respect this whether the kid ever plays well again.... isn't a Tennessee fan.
Ya know what's really sad? the fact that this thread has 6 pages.
I feel bad knocking a fellow human being so badly but he isn't. A real fan would request to sit on the bench or leave the team. He isn't doing any good for the team. This really does sound horrible but it's true. He is being selfish by putting himself on the field.
Watching him play makes me want to vomit. I've given him the benefit of the doubt over and over again but this is too much. He is single handedly keeping Ohio in the game.
I am wondering also. I always though Al Davis was a senile fool but continuing to play Crompton is the closest I've seen Kiffin coming to sinking this ship. Could sink fast because Crompton is horrible.
Also, anyone who thinks I'm over exaggerating and being too harsh.... I started a post after the WKU game wondering if Crompton could get in the heisman race by seasons end.
Like I said, I was on Crompton's side and thought this staff may right the ship but he is horrible.
+1
Agree... but at least the most recent posts have disagreed with the title of the thread. Any true Vol fan (i.e. the OP of this post) would go back and change the title.
this is seriously the worst thread ive seen on this site BY FAR. saying kiffin needs to grow a pair and calling for his head... this is no vol fan i know. he is dealing with what fulmer left him... nothing. NS is no better a choice than crompton and if you think he and the receivers are on the wrong page then just wait til a new qb comes in with little reps in practice with said receivers and see how much worse this offense gets. NS can only throw a good deep ball and he's not even consistent with that or we would have won more than 5 games last year when he took over. furthermore, the wildcat formation is a gimmick that works maybe twice a game unless its a major part of the offense... so guru do us a favor and keep your opinions to yourself.
If Kiffin pulls Crompton, and the O is just as pathetic than what's the common denominator? HIM. Right now Crompton is taking all the blame for HIS incapable offense. If the next guy performs just as bad or worse than the finger will be pointed at Lane and he does not want that.
