Well the area lakes are trashed and last nights cold spell didn't help matters much. Only ramp you can launch on on Priest is Hamilton creek.
Old Hickory is very murky to muddy and the fishing slowed way down from a week ago. Hopefully with temps on the rise and dryer weather on the way things will get back to normal a little. I think there might be one more wave of spawners on Old Hickory and that's going to be it. They've just about done their business for the year.
Time for the bluegill spawn and bluegill colored crankbaits, this gets good when the temps approach 70 and we're almost there.
Topwater time is just about here also, my favorite bite of the year.
Chicken Liver and corn. Shrimp will work but the cats will like the liver. Haven't been fishing down below Priest for trout, but cats like liver anywhere you go and trout will eat corn or flies if you do that.I'm going fishing tomm at Percy priest dam, for catfish, and possibly striped bass. Anyone done any fishing there that might have some suggestions? I might try some trout fishing there as well.

We catch a dogfish every few years, just "lucky" if you call it that.I'm going surf fishing for the first time in a month. Going down to Seaside, Florida (near Destin). I just bought a bunch of gear on the Bass Pro Shops website.
I've never done it before, but I've got big circle hooks for some shark fishing, as well as bottom rigs for when I just want to catch some Whiting.
Anyone with any experience/tips?
Yeah i have a few customers in Southfork. I lived here when there wasn't a Southfork or a Food Lion, just a big field and one barn. Times have definitely changed the look of the area.Very cool to see all these names like Old Hickory, Percy Priest, and Hermitage. I used to live in the Southfork neighborhood off of Old Hickory Boulevard between Hermitage and Lakewood, and adjacent to Food Lion.
