The fix is in

So not only did Ohio State not fall below Tennessee but by some miracle of Christ, Georgia ROSE in the rankings after an 8 overtime win to an unranked team at home. I think this was on purpose to screw Tennessee out of any chance to host a game.

Maybe I'm wrong but here's the only possible way it happens now ..

Unless Georgia or Penn St lose by 30 or more points.

This bodes terribly for UT. Tennessee hasn't beat a top 10 team on the road since 2006, 19 seasons let alone a game as crazy huge as a playoff game at someone else's home field.

A real shame.

This gives Heupel a chance to be a streak buster.

We’ve also never played one of those overrated Big Ten teams on the road. They have to play us too. They’ve not faced an offensive system like ours and we have the best defense that any of them have faced all season. Any one of those teams will be shell shocked once they are playing against our tempo combined with our physicality.

Thank you for being one of the voices of reason. It's amazing so many people believe everyone is committed to sabotaging Tennessee.
Between the posts blaming the refs for every bad play or the committee for rankings and the ones calling for all the coaches to be fired or the players to be benched, it has become exhausting to read

Don't worry about it right now. The conference games will shake this a little more.

I just don’t see the committee shaking up most of this bracket. If GA beats Texas by 1 or 50 I could legit see them just switching spots and the same goes for the Oregon and penn state game. I think we are where we are. What id love to see happen is whatever scenario it takes to knock bama out completely since I’ve given up hope of hosting a playoff game in Neyland.

Pack it in with that loser mentality

What tempo? We haven’t ran tempo since 2022.

Jesus dude, find some joy. That is loser mentality and defeatist attitude. Not everything happens because "the fix is in" if the committee wanted to hose the SEC they would have put Miami in and left Bama out. To say everyone out there has a bias against UT is extremely egotistical, maybe to a point of unhealthy

Oh boy, here we go with the superiority complex again. “We’ll beat anyone we play” is what I read from 80% of this board the week before laying an egg in Fayetteville, getting boatraced at Georgia and needing OT to beat a bad Florida team.
The 'bad' Florida team that beat LSU and Ole Miss?

Yes we have, and still do
Every now and then. It’s kind of insane just how much it has slowed down. I was blaming it on Milton not being able to process last year. Maybe this year it’s a redshirt freshman not processing fast enough. Speed relies on the qb to be able to read the defense and make calls on the fly with our system. I just don’t think we have it right now.

It's idiotic to say Georgia "boatraced" us.

You should be embarrassed

If the committee could have all four host teams from the B1G, they would. Given that they can’t, their rankings will insure that at least two of the hosts will be from the B1G. It suits them that one will be ND, and only one will be a SEC team. It’s a power and prestige thing, meth to the B1G.

You guys are so weak. Afraid of even the least competition. I'm personally excited to see us play at Ohio State (a venue we've never played at). And I'm expecting us to win.
Yea I'm not impressed with their QB. I also think our DL is better than Michigan DL. What OSU does well at, we do well at stopping. Hopefully the weather is bad and it becomes trench warfare

Forget the committee after the teams are selected. Blind draw for all byes and games. Either drop to an 8 team playoff or up to16 team playoff. No byes, everyone plays the same number of games to get to the championship game. All games played on neutral fields.

But I forget, all these educated people doing the selecting and figuring out where the games are played are just like engineers, no common sense.

I agree 100%. No doubt that we go to the “shoe” and win by double digits. We finally have some offensive cohesion & confidence, it seems, and everyone knows about the Tennessee Defense.

I still think we should be ahead of OSU and hosting. So, the question i have is…..
How does Miami lose on the road to an 8-3 Syracuse & drop 6 spots…..But OSU loses at HOME against a 5-6 Michigan & only drops 4 spots?????

Who is scared? From what I see it’s just people recognizing that OSU is gonna be a tough game for us to win on the road. Like it or not we aren’t a good road team. And don’t try and act like OSU can’t just turn on the jets because they can. They have elite talent everywhere.

I don’t know if we would win. I think it will be a really rough game in a very hostile environment. But of course you said Arky and UF would be easy wins. You also said the UGA game is where everything would turn around. You are wrong way more than you are right.

And add to that OSU is getting credit for a top 10 win with Indiana which is absurd.

And I’ve already listened to some media this morning and the lack of outrage for Bama getting in is puzzling. If I were the Miami AD I would be going full scorched earth toward the committee with anybody that would have me on their show.

I don’t mind playing OSU. Not a fan of how we got here, but OSU has not performed well against the SEC historically.

All Time: 5-14-1
Bowls: 2-13

They suck against the SEC until they don’t. Having home field adds a wrinkle but they couldn’t beat a subpar Michigan team so….

Man, it is really nuts how 90% of this board is ruled by emotion and bias towards their team. The committee is biased against UT, in love with the Big 10, can't wait to screw the SEC and the Vols. Have you ever considered developing opinions based on rational arguments and logic? What if instead of grand conspiracies, the simplest answer is the most accurate? That the case for those Big 10 teams, particularly Ohio St and Penn St, is more compelling than Tennessee's case? I guess this is what you get when people that can't see their own biases have 2 digit IQ's. I mean, the refs are out to get us every week also, right? LOL...
