The Flash (CW)

This is correct. Flash appears as a red blur with yellow lightning. The primary color of his suit is red, which is why people see it as a red blur. The yellow highlights in the suit produce the lightning effect. RF is the exact opposite because his suit is the exact opposite.

My fellow geek. :)

The suits themselves give you the correct answer. Look at the lightning on Flash's chest piece, it's yellow. Now look at the lightning on RF's chest piece, it's red. That's your answer.

I've actually had this discussion with several people the past 2 days. It seems to get confused a lot, I think the red blur in the yellow lightning throws people off.

If I remember correctly, artistically, the lightning effect for the Flash came from the yellow wings on his cowl. Later artists extended it to the other yellow parts of his costume, but it originated with those yellow wings.

Again, not positive, but if you go back and look at golden age art, I don't think Jay Garrick had the yellow lightning effect. I think once it became popular with Barry, it was added to him as well, but the older art lacks the lightning effect. I'd have to go back and look it up to know for sure though. He did have the yellow lightning streak across his chest, but he wore that metal helmet.

One last tidbit for people to mull over. Harrison Wells, is it possible his name pays homage to H.G. Wells? Wells wrote a book called The Time Machine which introduced the idea of a machine that allowed for time travel. Metron's Mobius Chair is just such a device. Again, it makes me wonder.

Well, now I don't know. We've both supplied sufficient evidence to support our own theories so all I can say is that it's a complete inconsistency with the tv show. When they've showed him running without the suit at best it's more orange than yellow. I thought I remembered it being discussed in one of the episodes but I have no idea which one it was. One of the first 5 I think, lol.

I feel like a dumbass for putting lightening all night. Lol

Fwiw I read an article a minute ago saying the yellow lightning was tied to the speed force, and red was tied to the negative speed force that Zoom has created.

Take your orange tinted sunglasses off and you will see it's yellow. Lol

Cisco described the lightning color differences in mid season finale. That's as Cannon as it gets for the show.

No. The only episode thus far on this show where they've "stressed" the streak color was in that one episode with zoom. Every other episode Barry is an orange or red streak.

I'll have to check this out again.

Awesome episode if I must say so!

We knew one of the people at the house was future Barry but the fact that the other blood sample wasn't Wells' means that it's likely not Wells. Why the hell then would Wells have the Reverse Flash suit? Is Wells working with whoever really is RF?

I jumped on Google and mistakenly learned Eddie's last name is Thawne

We've already discussed that in this thread. It's no spoiler.

You discussed Wells working with Thawne?

In the comics, the Reverse-Flash is Eobard Thawn. Eobard, Eddie, it's not a big leap. I'm not convinced Wells is working with Thawn. I'm thinking Wells being Metron is still a possibility.

I don't think Eddie is Eobard, I think RF/Zoom is Eobard. Eddie is probably his great grandfather or something since Eobard is from the future. Rememeber when RF took out the guards he didn't touch Eddie, Eddie even commented on it.

Cisco could just be lying about Wells not being a match BTW. I'm doubting he would so easily give up Wells. Wells is still Zoom/Thawne...I'll never surrender lol

I'll pose the question again. Why does Wells have the RF suit?

Zoom is RF, just not with natural powers. He has a device that creates them, like the Tachyon device on the RF suit. He wasn't like other versions of RF in that he pushed Barry to be a better version of himself, not unlike Wells. He was kind of a fanboy really, a slightly disturbed fanboy. IIRC

If he is Metron, he probably has the suit and ring because he has collected them over time. Which would make sense, cause having both is very conflicting.

If Wells is a RF, he's Hunter Zolomon, who wasn't really a speedster. His power had something to do with manipulating time to make it appear he was moving at super speed. But, I don't remember him having the power of actual time travel, which it certainly appears Wells has travelled back from some point in the future.

As I recall, there have only been two RFs. Eobard and Hunter. Eobard has been retconned a couple of times, which confuses the issue when comparing him to comics.

This is a possibility.
