The Future (at QB)

Exactly.. I seem to remember a skinny feller named Peyton, too 😂
Peyton wasn't ever exactly a "dual threat" kind of guy, and that's being polite.

Nico looks fine to me. I'm sure they'll put some core muscle and power legs on him. He's probably been playing volleyball, which he's apparently also good at, and keeping his hops up.

The best thing that can happen for TN football is that Milton figures out how to play QB well enough to keep us winning until Nico is ready to take over.
Milton hasn’t shown the ability to do that in any game he has played in so for for TN including the game against Vandy.
Overthrown deep balls are just one of many issues he needs to fix to be a decent QB.
Hopefully he can come out and play a good game against Clemson. He has had two years in this system with Heupel and others coaching him. If he still isn’t ready then he’s not going to be

I knew I had seen you somewhere. It was the Cozia Forest in Romania, wasn't it. Mr. Jones?

There's nothing to be BUT a big Milton fan. Actually, I'm a big Peyton Manning fan as a UT QB but he..... like Hendon Hooker..... is part of UT history.

So which current UT QB are you "a big fan" of?

I’m a fan of any UT qb but we have to have QBs who can play qb at an SEC level and gives us the best chance to win.
Milton hasn’t shown the ability to do that in any game he’s been in to this point. Hopefully he can figure out how to do that in the bowl game.

We don't know what Milton can really do for sure yet. And this is another reason we need a QB out of the portal.
Well, we were talking about Young vs Nico, I thought, and Nico MIGHT be ready as a true freshman. It DOES happen, even in the SEC.

For now, we have the best QB developer I've seen in many, many years in Josh Heupel and if he tries Milton again and Milton isn't ready, I trust he'll have Jackson or Nico as well developed as possible.

If he goes to the portal for a QB that's fine too, but I see our defense has having bigger immediate needs from the portal.

You left some critical information out. He needs to control short passes too and that’s also a big problem. If he can’t get his touch measured out on all passing distances, he has no future as a QB.

That right there. With most talking "deep ball...deep ball..." I was wondering if I'm alone in seeing it's not just deep balls.

Milton has more potential at QB from a talent standpoint than anybody who has played the position at UT. I understand he overthrows the ball BUT if he could ever figure it out, he would be lights out. I hope he goes nuts in this bowl game and gives us Vol fans something to really talk about in the off-season. Excited about Nico too but his time is coming. Go Vols!

Kelly Washington hurt TN football more than any player in recent times. The problems he caused more than outweighed any amount of yardage he gained. Check the history while he was there , listen to what players thought, look how the teams he was on reacted to adverse conditions. A lot of internal things that hurt the team was related to him. A fantastic talent that just wasn’t worth the problems. Again check the history.

Dude that was funny. Let the scrooges complain all they want. Having a sense of humor is better than a stick up the butt.

yes, keep bringing the humor, with all the damn serious stuff going on in this world I certainly don’t come here to leave feeling depressed or somber

According to his High School coach, he just as good if not better than Bryce Young coming out of High School. Guess what? That’s the same coached Young in High School also. I’ll take his word over the average fan.

not that I needed to know that, but that is all I need to know!

All you Goobers making fun of Milton should have been sitting with me in the cold rain a couple weeks ago in Nashville watching Milton lead a 56-0 victory over a Vandy Team who'd the previous 2 weeks beaten Florida & Kentucky.

oh...and... your wife/girlfriend wants Milton over you, too!

lighten up man

Hendon Hooker was special, but that doesn’t mean Milton can’t be very good. I think people will be unfair to Milton if he’s not as good as Hooker. I will be rooting hard for him.
I will be hooting hard for the QB who can win games for us. I really don't care which one it is.

This shows that Milton cares about the football program as a whole, not a guy just using Tennessee buying time to get to the NFL. I’m sure he knows Nico has the potential to beat him out and yet taking time to show him the ropes.
Wow, you can really read a lot out of one picture…
